last time hawaii traveler
5 star prices at 3 star accomodations
To say this hotel is a little tired would be an understatement. Not sure where the aledged $70 mil was spent but maybe that was 15 years ago. I'm sure first time Hawaii travelers would be just in love with this place but sorry not uns. The Marriot Courtyard in town is just as nice adn MUCH closer to EVERYTHING. The reosrt golf was totally SUB-PAR ! Some of the restaurants seemed like Furr's Cafeteria! Everything was way more expensiive and not worth it at all. Super delux room but the wind rattled the glass - keep us up all night. Lucky the gift shop had earplugs for the rest of the week. Just not the first class resort service i've seen at other places around the country or even Mexico. Something was broken or didnt work at every turn in the place. To top it off my golf travel bag went missing and the lousey attendant tried to blame me for leaving it there rather than picking it up for me ! Coke machines broken, broken workout machines, furniture in restaurant was probably original from day the place was built - bath towels too !

A True Hawaian Experienace
I've been to Hawaii a couple of times and always stay in Honolulu. I felt that I was not getting the true experience. Some one told me to check out Turttle Bay. I am planing two more trips and I will be staying on the North Shore. Snorkeling was an experience that I will never forget. If your looking to get away from all of the tourist, this is the place to be. Make sure to check out the local dinning. It's half the price of the resorts and had a chance to meet more of the locals. I feel this is Hawaii's best kept secret!!

Wonderfully relaxing
The views were stunning and the meals delicious. We appreciated the continental buffet option which was reasonably priced. All the people who worked at the resort were quite friendly. They seemed to be enjoying their time there too.

Very Family Friendly
The Turtle Bay Resort was very beautiful, relaxed, and the staff was the friendliest I have ever encountered. I had a ocean view room with a blacony and the room was a very nice size with a beautiful view, the bathroom had a separate vanity area with tons of closet space which I enjoyed. The hotel pool and beach area was fantastic. The hotel was very clean and mantained very well. There were a couple of dining choices on the resort area with good food, but very expensive. The 2 golf courses were amazing and horseback riding was very relaxing. I enjoyed and my husband and I plan on returning next year.

Turtle Bay and North Shore
I loved the North Shore location. If you want crowded beaches, tons of shopping, and people everywhere, stay in Waikiki.

There is a great little fishing village to the west of the resort. Great shops, restaurants, and beaches.
