Away From It All
My husband and I are regular vacationers to Hawaii, but we have never wanted to go to the big city, i.e., Wakiki. A friend suggested that there is another part of the island, the North Shore. Well, if you go to the North Shore, then there is only one place, and a fine place it is. A luxury resort, perfectly situated with both beach and pool. Fantastic spa where I spent way too much time, but came home looking good! . . . and two fabulous golf courses. No need to go out, but lovely drives and charming towns nearby if you want to do so. There definitely is another side to Oahu, and the Turtle Bay Resort is the only game in town. Fortunately, it is a wonderful place.

We made a great choice!
Our choice to stay at Turtle Bay was a great one. The north shore of Oahu is FAR less "touristy" than staying in the south. It is only an hour away from Honolulu and is miles and miles away from the hustle and bustle we left back home! Although the rooms are a bit dated, the service, scenery, activities, and food are first class!

honeymoon trip
first trip to Hawaii for the both of us. We loved it so much we can't wait to go back. My mom sent us on this trip for our honeymoon as she had been there twice already this year. We are starting to save our money now so we can go back with the rest of the family. Food was great, Mai Tais were fabulous. Loved hanging out by the pool and on the beach

trip to Honolulu
Turtle Bay Resort is a wonderful place to stay. We had a great time riding on the helicopter, visiting Pearl harbor, the Dole Pinapple plantation, the beaches, the shrimp truck down the road and great drives along the beautiful ocean. The entire turtle bay area is very beautiful and so much better than staying in Honolulu where it is crowded.

Wow!
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It has everything you could possibly need or want, but it is very expensive. My husband and I didn't do any of the activities because of our budget, but we still loved it. There are so many amazing places to see close to the hotel and in/around it. There are beautiful and romantic walks, a beach that's not over crowded, yummy food and drinks, and shops galore. This is the place to stay if you're looking for a place that's more private and not so insanely crowded as the Waikiki area.

Everything that we needed was at our fingertips. When rained in, we still had plety to do and were simply enjoying ourselves at the resort. If we did not want to see the "torist" sights on the island, there would be no need to leave!

Great Romantic Getaway
This hotel is a wonderful little resort up on the North Shore. Our ocean view room had a relatively nice view of the ocean, impeded slightly by the rooftop of the lower level. Several evenings were spent on the lanai watching the sunset. The hotel is very clean, and hotel staff is easily identified by their red aloha shirts/dresses. We only ate at one of restaurants, the Palm Terrace. It was good food, but not necessarily worth what we paid. It's about what you expect from a resort though. The resort charges for many extras, such as a bottle water. The only reason I did not give a 5 on the staff is due to the young woman working at the reception desk when we checked in. We arrived at the hotel later in the evening, and she was rude, and altogether unwelcoming. I, however, will not base my entire experience on her alone, but it does warrant some mention. The grounds are beautifully manicured, and the beach access is readily available. Since it is all the way up on the North Shore, it was a little bit of a drive into Honolulu, but it was worth it to be so secluded. The hotel was quiet, and while there were some children, it was more of a romantic escape than a family hotel.
