only one problem

Would recommend Mon, Dec 3, 2007
We have stayed here numerous times. Unfortunately when I needed a surprise for my husband they could not make it happen. I requested upon check in that my spouse be presented with a spa day gift certificate. I called and made arrangements with the Luana Spa and paid in advance. This didn't happen and I had to f/u to track the gift certificate down. I would have thought that my request was not out of the ordinary but I guess it seemed to difficult to accomplish.

Very Family Friendly

Would recommend Sun, Sep 30, 2007
The Turtle Bay Resort was very beautiful, relaxed, and the staff was the friendliest I have ever encountered. I had a ocean view room with a blacony and the room was a very nice size with a beautiful view, the bathroom had a separate vanity area with tons of closet space which I enjoyed. The hotel pool and beach area was fantastic. The hotel was very clean and mantained very well. There were a couple of dining choices on the resort area with good food, but very expensive. The 2 golf courses were amazing and horseback riding was very relaxing. I enjoyed and my husband and I plan on returning next year.

Shopping hint

The north shore is a close drive with shopping, dining, and surfing.

Great getaway.

Great hotel. Don't stay in Waikiki when you can go to the North Shore and enjoy the privacy you just don't get in Honolulu/Waikiki. I would definately go back to stay at Turtle Bay. From start to finish we were extremely saitisfied with this trip.

Attractions

Food is slightly pricey, but a 10-15 minute drive to Haleiwa takes you to some cheap restaurants. Definately rent a car.

the most romantic place for couples

Would recommend Tue, Sep 11, 2007
This hotel is a great place for couples to spend romantic time together! The view is breathtaking, and service is excellent. The food is a little bit expensive, but it should not be a big deal when you are planning a romantic and special vacation. Try the horseback riding and the helicopter tour if you never had one. Advice: bring your own gear for snorkeling because the one we rent actually broke in water and we had to pay for it.

Dining

You should try the shrimp truck because the food is good and cheap.

Beautiful Location

Would recommend Sat, Sep 1, 2007
Our stay at the Turtle Bay Resort was very nice. The view from our oceanfront room was fantastic, but the balcony is very small - just big enough for two chairs. We did not eat at the hotel as the restaurants are very expensive and there are lots of alternatives nearby (if you have a car). Eat at shrimp trucks for a no frills meal, or go into Haleiwa town and have great Thai food at Haleiwa Eats. The rooms are fine but not large or luxurious. Laundry areas with coin operated machines were a bonus. I dod not mind the $15 per day facilities fee, which covered parking, unlimited wireless internet use, snorkeling equipment (for one hour a day), fitness center, etc.

Attractions

Don't miss summer snorkeling at Waimea Bay, much clearer water and more to see than at the hotel's beach. Also go to the Audubon Center and swim in the pond and under Waimea Falls!

Absolute Paradise

Would recommend Mon, Aug 20, 2007
The Turtle Bay Resort was the BEST experience we have ever had in a hotel. Everything was perfect! We had our own personal concierge who answered any question we had and also delivered fresh fruit on a daily basis and nightly turn-down service by housekeeping. The location of Turtle Bay is perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki but not too far away - approximately 45 minutes. This made for comfortable and relaxing times on the North Shore's numerous beaches. The restaurants were very good and the alcoholic beverages were even better. If you are over 21, make it a priority to try the Monkey's Lunch.

Turtle Bay Resort-Rooms are large-we liked the two separate bathroom sinks-very comforable-had alot of closet space-this resort is true Hawaii-all rooms are ocean front view and the view is spectacular-beach area, swimming pools, dinning area are all great-very friendly personel-I highly recommend it.

Shopping hint

Great getaway

Would recommend Mon, Aug 6, 2007
Turtle Bay Resort was the perfect place to decompress after completing a tiring business project. It's location on the North Coast of Hawaii away from overcrowded and commercial Honolulu is beautiful. The resort has two great golf courses. I stayed in a beachfront cottage which was lovely and literally steps from the beach.

Beautiful and calm tropical getaway

Would recommend Sun, Aug 5, 2007
I liked this hotel because it was away from the hectic city life that I went there to get away from. We had a gorgeous ocean view. We had a ton of luggage and there was enough space to hang all of our scuba gear and the room was big enough so that the golf clubs didn't get in our way. The food was okay. I would suggest driving off the resort for food. The Arnold Palmer course was great and the replay rate was 35$ for either course.

Dining

There are great dining options, although a half hour away, in Haleiwa. They have a bunch of different types of restaurants and shops for cheaper than what the hotel offers.

Great Views & Service

Would recommend Fri, Jul 27, 2007
At first we were put in a room on the 6th floor, which was right under the roof air conditioning unit. This resulted in a constant rumbling sound. We called the front desk, and they immediately sent a maintence person to check on it. When they couldn't do anything to fix the problem, they switched us to another room as soon as we asked. We ended up with an even better view of the water. The views were spectacluar and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony, eating lunch and watching the ocean. Great sunrises and rainbows too! We ordered room service several times...the menu was a little limited, different things for lunch and dinner--but the portions were huge and the food was delicious.

Dining

Hale'iwa has L&L BBQ (local lunch plate place) and shave ice at Matsamoto's Grocery Store
