Single man point of view

The hotel staff was very friendly and willing to help with anything I needed. The room was a suite and very roomy and welcoming to come back to. The room however had a few small things that should have be addressed. One being two of the lamps had dead light bulbs that needed to be replace. I had plenty of light, so I never called the staff to replace them. I felt safe and secure in my room and I had even left money on my dresser and never lost a dime. I would gladly stay at the Waikiki hotel again, friendly staff and I loved the open air of the lobby, it seemed so Hawaiian there!!! Thanks for a wonderful time in your lovely hotel, to all the staff at The Waikiki hotel!!!! Aloha !!!!

Nice Stay

This was a wonderful and safe place to stay; friendly staff, great atmosphere and nice room, quiet, (except weekends in Waikiki are generally not quiet anywhere). You can't beat the locale, and it suited my needs perfectly.

Pro Bowl '09

The staff was really friendly, they remembered me and I was immediately upgraded to a larger room (Jr. Suite) upon arrival for my 2nd stay within 2 months (New Yrs & Pro Bowl - coincidence?). The room had a king bed, sofa w/bed, small sink w/frige, free inroom coffee/tea, flat screen TV, small desk w/Exec office chair and a free room safe. They are undergoing some renovations during the day (but who's there then??) Waikiki Resort is only one short block from the beach, across from Pacific Beach Hotel's entrance, with two restaurants - one Thai and one with a weekend all-U-can-eat Roast Beef dinner special for $17.95. There is even a Pleasant Holidays Tour/Trip Agent right in the lobby. The only minus is the lack of a lounge/bar in the hotel. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs within a short walking distance all starting across the street and less than 1 block away. Overall, this was an absolutely fantastic Orbitz deal for 7 days/6 nights for under $1,000 - air, hotel & taxes incl. from Boston.

Duke's Canoe Bar in Outrigger Waikiki (sunsets)and the new Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville (2nd fl outdoor patio) are across the street and next to International Marketplace 2.5 blocks away respectively. Also late nights at Lava Rock Lounge in the Marketplace.

Lovely hotel

Very friendly, helpful and informative staff. Great location, just a block from the beach, shopping and restaurants. You don't need a car here, just walk wherever you want to go. The air is fresh and smells lovely. Room is well appointed and comfortable. The mattress is firm but not too firm. The bathing area is tiny. The light switch is on the wall where the sink is and I forgot to turn it on twice and had to use the bathroom in the dark (you have to close the door to use the toilet... dark!!!).

The Waikiki Resort Hotel

The Waikiki Resort Hotel is in a great location, one block from the famous Waikiki beach. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The rooms have free in-room safes, flat screen TVs, mini-friges and balconies. There are three available free internet accessible computers, a snack shop and a vitamin shop in the large lobby. There are also two restaurants, however, I was not particularly pleased with Iliamas, the one on the 1st floor, when I went to eat there on a Friday night. It does not bode well for the restaurant when they run out of the main item, Roast Beef, on an all you can eat Roast Beef menu at 7:30PM when that restaurant is open from 5:00 PM until 9:00PM on a weekend, the 1st day of a 3 day Roast Beef special menu. Luckily, there are more than enough places (40+)to eat within mere blocks of the hotel with a variety of foods in different price ranges. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone as a great value in an excellent location.

Close to the Beach Value

The staff is friendly. The hotel location is a little hard to find because of the one-way streets in Waikiki, but once you find it, you can use the McDonald's at the corner as the guide post. Good location from the beach and the tourist section of Honolulu because it is one block away from the beach. There's no wireless access, however you can use landline if your PC allows it. However, there are computers on the main floor...but no printer to print out your boarding pass. Also, there's an internet cafe around the corner (however, this is not 24hour service), if you want printer access. The hotel has good value for the buck.

A great value for the price!

The Hotel was very stategically placed close to all the action, Beach, Activity pick-up right across the street, and a very pleasant, and professional Hotel staff; especially [...]at the Front Desk Reservation, always had a warm smile, and Aloha feel. What a DOLL! I would recomend this place! Tony
