the WORST hotel experience ever.

Disgusting. Atrocious. Disappointing. There were some major issues including: -No water for 15 hours, when the hotel said it would be around 3 or 4. -BUGS (gigantic ones!) everywhere in the room. Alive and crawling. -They moved us to a room that had no bed.

Not recommended accomadations.

The bed linnens were clean, but the carpet was sort of dirty and overall everything in the room looked old and run down. But worst of all were the roaches in the room that made us lay open eyed all night thinking they might crawl in the bed or go in our luggage. We stayed only one night, drove out the morning and looked for another hotel. The good thing was that Orbitz was able to get us a refund for the days that we had already prepaid and did not use. Thanks, Orbitz!!

Hotel Rating Review

Location was excellent. But overall the hotel was disappointing. As a handicapped individual the hotel was inadequate for my needs. Bathroom was small & uncomfortable. We were traveling with friends and our room was in a separate building from their's. One of two elevators was down for nearly a full day. Would not stay there again .

Equus

Very nice hotel for the price. Walking distance to the beach, Ala Moana Shopping center and downtown Waikiki. The only thing missing is that the clerk would not give me a receipt after our stay. He said it was confidential since I booked through [...]. I thought that was odd. When I got home I confirmed that I was charged the [...]price (which was lower than booking over the phone). I prefer to know what I paid for my stay on the day I leave. Other than that this is a great hotel.

Staff Helpful But Room Needs a Revamp

Staff was great. We arrived at 8 am and given a room and breakfast even though check in was 5 hours later. Thanks Puka. Puka was very helpful when we needed medical assistance, gave us a phone number so that we could speak directly with a doctor. The location is great close to shopping restaurants, buses, beaches, ideal location. The only negative is that our room was very scruffy, nothing like the photo's. Needs a makeover.

Apart from being in a reasonable

Apart from being in a reasonable location (easy walking distance to main attractions), we didn't really enjoy our stay here for a number of reasons: - The room was 24 floors up yet it was SO noisy, we were surprised at how much road noise we could hear so far up especially as the tower we stayed in was set back from the road! - The shower tap flew off the wall and hit my husband while he was showering! - The hotel notified us that they would be having pest control come in to our room to spray for bugs but it never happened. They failed to let us know that the next day there would be someone drilling through concrete on the floor above us for hours on end while we were trying to sleep! - Breakfast was included in the room rate but it was very minimal. Most days were were lucky if we even got toast to eat! We won't be staying here again.

Vacation

I felt the location to be good. It was walking distance to everything. The Ala Moana mall was across the small bridge and there is a Wal-Mart about 2 blocks up from the Ala Moana Mall. The pickup location for Paradise Cover and Polynesian Culture Center is a block away. Upkeep of the room was horrific. My gf got a little makeup on the sheets and I tried to wipe it up which left a smear and glad it happened. The mark was there EVERY single day they made the bed, meaning they DO NOT change the sheets. I went down to the front desk to ask if sheets were to be changed and the guy said they change it on the 3rd day, which they did not do. It was a very obvious smear which all they did was make the bed and put the other covers on top of it. I also had to ask for more shampoo and soap since they did not restock any of it. We Room 302 which had a sliding door that did not slide or lock and the other side of the sliding door you could see into the wood in the wall. The room also had water leaking into it since it was raining outside. We had to request more towels and lay them down in front of the door. Also, there is no fan in the bathroom so I would suggests taking showers with the door open. The toilet is amazingly loud (looks like a school toilet with handle flusher) and walls are super thin. They also do not have an elevator on the ground floor. It is stairs up to the front desk. From there, there is an elevator. All in all, me and my girlfriend are very easy and deal with obstacles thrown at us so we dealt with all the issues. This is definitely not the place for you if you care about it being quiet and cozy. It was an awesome location in my opinion for what we wanted to do.
