Over the Rooftop
I have been to Hawaii numerous times over the past 35 years and stayed several times at the Sheraton. This particular trip was somewhat disappointing in that the front desk staff was not at all accommodating. To be there one week and assigned a very generic room, overlooking the roof with plenty of noise, was not what I expected. Upon requesting a late checkout of 1:30pm, I was told this would be ok for an additional $25. Really, is this cheesy or what?

Waikiki at its best
Our room was considered a partial ocean view. But it was exactly what we wanted. We could see Diamond Head and the beach from our room. Our balcony was shaded from the trees and adjacent buildings because our room was on the 4th floor. It kept things cool and made a nice breakfast area. The evenings had live entertainment at poolside so we didn't take time on the balcony at evening or night. Staff were always helpful with directions to other events and locations. Great nearby shopping, entertainment and dining. For me the Hotel dining was high. Breakfast buffet was 24.00 each, plus tip. Food taste was good. There gelatin ice cream shop was excellent. Just mix the macadamia nut and coconut ice cream together. Yes I would stay here again providing I save a little more for the meals next time.

Great location
Although it was called city view, I had a view of the ocean, pool and city. The staff was courteous, and the room spacious. It was an easy walk to shopping, beach and dining. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Great location...but so are several other Waikiki beach hotels
The Sheraton Waikiki is a very nice hotel on a great piece of property. The business center consisted of three computers which cost $7.00 just to check email when using. The internet in the room, provided you bring your own laptop, costs to log in, payable in 2 hour blocks. I expected everything to be expensive, which it was for the most part, but I did not expect the Sheraton to charge for EVERY little thing. Their private beach is a few rocks and about 100 square feet of sand, where the charter catamarans load and unload, forcing you to get out of the way. If I go back, I will not stay there again.

Comfortable
The Sheraton Waikiki was very clean, comfortable and big. There were 2 of us with alot of clothes. There was more than enough room to put everything way, with enough room left over to stow the suitcases. The bed was big and very comfortable. The bathroom big enoug for 2 to get ready at the same time. The employees friendly and courteous. The location on Waikiki beach excellent, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, with the exception of Pearl Harbor. I would highly recommend a stay at the Sheraton Waikiki.
