Good Location for the price

We went for the high ocean view, which turned out to be a high city/building view on the 27th. floor and unless we went out and bent over the balcony railing we didn"t see any ocean. Only then saw a little ocean between 2 buildings. We complained and got a lower room on the 16th. floor on the other side of the building which had a partial ocean view from the balcony.

excellent location to price ratio

Located at the Kalakaua Av., in the middle of Waikiki, very conveniently close to the beach, shopping malls, restaurants and other amenities, this hotel exceeded my expectations in this regard, especially when considering the price (about one-half of the beach hotels). The room had a very nice view of both the ocean and the city, and the bed was very comfortable. I received a very polite treatment from all the staff; they even helped me with some troubles with my credit card and with a money withdrawal from the ATM located at the lobby.

Beautiful Weather Dissappointing Hotel

Trips to Hawaii are always breathtaking, however this trip was not as enjoyable. Although the weather and tours were remarkable as usual this hotel stay was disappointing at best. The room was very small the bathroom unbearable, the bathtub drain did not work. We were given a new room only to find the drain in this room had to be removed in order for the shower water not to build up. The bathroom needed caulking badly. The carpet was filthy, the ceilings appeared to have been repaired from constant leaks, however not done inconspicuosly. The most annoying was the absence of a microwave. And lastly the refrigerator was inoperable. Ice cream was placed in the freezer only to awaken to slush. When asked to see the office manager we got the desk clerks and a survey. We were able to talk to the manager via telephone but were not allowed see him in person to make a formal complaint of the hotel.

Don't!

The hotel is in a prime location in Waikiki. However, it is very badly maintained. Everything about our floor, room, cleanness, etc. was worthy of a one star hotel at best. We had supposedly been given an upgrade[...] The front desk staff didn't do much for us. Apparently, there is a renovated section of the hotel that was sold out. Thankfully, the front desk manager was very helpful in working with us to find a more convenient alternative for us. That's what saved our vacation.

The hotel was located in the perfect spot to get to all shopping, dining and attracations. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The beach was close by and accessable and we spent a lot of time at the beach. We also dined out a lot and all types of eating options from fast food to fine dining were available close by, and we took advantange of both. The entire experience was above average.

location, location, location

Location is perfect, down the street from the beach and around the corner from the waikiki strip. Hotel is a little dated but had everything that you needed plus a balconey. If you are an active vacationer, and dont plan on spending your days cooped up in the hotel, this hotel is perfect. At night it can get a little noisy but most nights we were so tired from sightseeing that we just knocked out. They have a band that plays nightly, it was nice to sit on the balconey and enjoy the hawaii breeze with some music. Also, if you can, rent mopeds! I was reluctant at first but it was hands down the best way to see hawaii! We took them up to diamond head and hanuama bay, beautiful views.

Slightly Disappointed

There are a few minor details I was disappointed on. 1.Facility looked different than what was depicted in the pictures provided on the photo album of the hotel. I thought the room would be more modern. 2. I waited for awhile, in line before someone acknowledged 2. I was in the backside of the building, so, when it was windy, the wind would bounce off the sliding door, causing a bang. I couldn't sleep.

Good Location!

The hotel was fairly nice and the location is probably one of the best. It is right across from the Waikiki beach and very close from the shopping area. However, the hotel charges local phone calls that you make in your room which is free in many other countries. Other than that every thing is fairly nice.
