Looks are deceiving

Expected a lot more. This vacation showed how important the experience upon check-in is. Beds were comfortable though and location close to the beach and police station. The rest I'm not allowed to clarify.

Perfect for couples getaway

The staff was amazing. The pool was a bit small but do you really need a huge pool when the ocean is right across the beach?! There are tons of good restaurants with easy walking distance. I recommend renting a car one or two days and traveling to other parts of the island but If you are a true beach bum , you don't have to go anywhere. One recommendation: make sure you turn on the shower about 5min before you are ready to bathe in your roomm because it takes a while for the hot water to kick in. Oh and the free breakfast that was advertised on wasn't accepted at the hotel for some reason so don't bank on any freebies. But the staff is amazing and very accommodating.

Hawaii introduction to sister in law

This hotel needs updating, I have stayed twice and this time they charged a resort fee, which as far as I am concerned was ridiculous. Had a discussion at registration about this and was told if we would like to give up our two double beds (which was scheduled) and take a king instead they would wave the resort fee, should this be up for trade? If you are staying at a hotel they should not be nickel and diming you with charges to receive something, such as daily water or internet services, it is a continuation of airline charges, i.e. how can you fly without a bag? They do not offer an ala carte breakfast, there is no hook on the back of the bathroom door (how difficult would that be to install) and the hot water could not be adjusted, trying to do so made the knob fall off. The maid told us if we put up the "do not disturb sign" and she didn't service us she would not be paid that day! Our key card did not work 3 times and they had to send maintenance up to check it.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Dining, shopping and attractions are all close, the hotel is in a great location, across the street from Dukes and next door to The International Market Place. A short walk to all amenities and a good pick up for tours. The location of this hotel is the biggest plus!

WOW! Great place to stay.

Booked through online discounter, upgraded to suite on top floor! Incredible view of beach and downtown. Great location for getting around Honolulu and seeing sights. Breakfast included in package was outstanding and made start of day easy. Located next to International Market Place and across street from Waikiki Beach, hotel centered in middle of activity. Good restaurants within walking distance made dinner quick and hassle free.

Would not go again

The room was not clean (hair in the bathroom) and tiny. The hotel served drinks in plastic cups and drinks were generally more expensive than in bars around. Staff was not very friendly.

Nice place to stay

The staff was very friendly and helpful from the time we exited the taxi until we left. Everyone was helpful in aiding in our experience of getting around the island. The hotal is nice and clean. The price was an excellent value based on these things and the proximity to the beach, shopping, and other activites. Would definately consider on a return visit.

Good location.

It was a nice hotel, clean. Room was ready for a little updating. The buffet at night was great. As was the breakfast buffet. But it would have been nicer if we didn't have to pay for breakfast. Centrally located, so was easy to walk to many places. Staff was helpful and knowledgable. I would stay here again.

Many of the stores carry the same items. We found that alot of them were available at the International Market place for a cheaper price.

Washrooms are old

The location was great. Very central if you like Waikiki beach. Concierge was very helpful and friendly as expected. Room was alright. However, the hallway was noisy in the morning from other guests leaving as well as the cleaning staff calling out for room service. Washrooms are old looking. The cleaning staff do a very quick job sometimes forgetting to replace items.

Excellent on a budget

If you're visiting Waikiki and are planning on being out and about every day, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is perfect because it's a no-frills hotel that's better than your basic cheapy. The bed is huge and comfy, and it's in the best location possible, tucked away from the main street (Kalakaua) so it's quiet, but once you step outside, it's right across from the beach and in the middle of the shops and restaurants. Sure, the rooms and bathrooms are small and could use updating, but for the price you pay, you really can't beat it. Lower your expectations, or pay the extra money for a 5-star balcony facing the ocean.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

If you get up early (before sunrise) and head to Hanauma Bay (20 min. drive), you won't have to pay admission or parking before 7 AM.
