Do NOT stay here! Gross!!

This place needs to be shut down. I got in at 1 am after driving back and forth across Waikiki multiple times to even find the place. I was told that parking was "sold out" and could either find street parking or park in the bank lot down the street. Elevator was nasty and ancient. Carpet in hallway is literally taped to hold it together. Room is just plain gross. Travel weary as I am, you couldn't pay me to shower in this shower, with a huge rust stain under the faucet and very questionable floor, not to mention it was dripping all night. Door to balcony literally doesn't close and is "secured" by a door chain that was unhooked when I arrived. Air conditioning is a small residential window air conditioner that chills air about 3 feet around it. Barely. Do not stay here. Ever. True what another reviewer said, this is more of a hostel than a hotel. And I'm a pretty non picky budget traveler used to Comfort Inns.

Great location with little work to be done in other areas

Polynesian Plaza is at just perfect location if you want to be close to all Honolulu hot spots. A lot of restaurants and stores around. Walking distance to beaches and few important bus stops if that's your way of getting around. However, rooms are a bit old so there might be some stains in the bathroom walls or tapbin the bathroom isn't really shiny. When I stayed there, they were renovating though, so all of those problems might me gone really soon. Big kudos to the staff! Both receptionist and cleaning staff. Made staying there really pleasant for me and my wife.

Dingy, Dirty, Dud!

There was a sign that said they were renovating, however the only renovating seen was the sign. Dirty carpets throughout, Dingy and run downed room and bath. Some staff was friendly but not able to answer questions. Air conditioning hardly worked and was full of mold. Vertical blinds wouldn't slide open or closed so had to work around them to get to the patio. Patio door was heavy and I could only get one side to open. If you are staying here to save money and you haven't been GUARANTEED a parking pass, you will spend your savings in parking. It is close to the beach and is located in the middle of Waikiki shopping and is actually located above a shopping mall.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Horrible to get your luggage to your room. Use the back entrance at the pool and down the alley to bring your luggage in & out. Parking is a nightmare, they don't have very many parking passes, so don't count on a pass. Over promise and under delivered.

Staff freindly BUT rooms not worth any price......

Good location for bus riding. Friendly staff. But no phone in rooms, curtains thin and old, drawers stuck on the dresser, mildew in the bathroom, and the carpeting needs professional cleaning BIG TIME!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Use the bus on Oahu. If you are there for 2 weeks buy a month pass. You can go all over the island with the bus no need to rent a car. St. Germaine's on Kuhio has great sandwichs on homemade bread! Good lunch deal....make up your own sandwich, chips & drink.
