Great place to stay

We certainly got our monies worth at this hotel. Front desk folks were great. House cleaning was efficient and prompt. Air conditioning left a bit to be desired - could not regulate the room temp. But overall room temp was comfortable. Not a lot of amenities in the room. One chair. We had to move patio furniture inside to have a place to sit.

Great Location

This hotel is located in the heart of all the shops and places to party. Walking distance to everything! Great location for the price. A bit outdatde and the halls are quite dirty. The rooms are really tiny and the partial city view is that of the hotel next door! However, the hotel employees are nice, friendly, and helpful. You cannot beat the service and location of the hotel. Just be realistic that the amount you are paying has a price. Overall the service was fair for the price, it was safe and location was perfect!

Superb location for the cost

Park Shore is situated at the quieter Diamond Head end of Waikiki across from the Kapiolani park and the zoo and a short walk from the Aquarium. The hotel has a wonderful open air lobby, nicely decorated and the desk staff were helpful and courteous. This is not a new hotel and the elevators could be spruced up a bit but the room was comfortable and always cleaned well before noon each day. The ocean view rooms look out onto Waikiki beach which is literally just across the road. All the rooms have a coffee maker - the coffee is free - and a small fridge. There is a Starbucks just outside the entrance to the hotel as well as a restaurant - Lulu's which opens at 7:00 a.m. and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with good food and generous portions. All the high end shops in Waikiki are just a short stroll away and The Bus stops right outside the hotel and the free trolleys passes within a block of the hotel. This is my second visit to Park Shore and for the money and the location it is well worth a visit.

My review of Park Shore Waikiki

The Park Shore was very well located ,across the street from the beach. The service is great. The only downfall ,that I saw, was the hallways were very worn and the rooms furniture and carpeting very outdated. Overall the hotel was a very good value and we had a pleasant stay.

Park Shore Hotel, Waikiki

A nice hotel in a great location. The hotel is the last one of a strand of hotels along Waikiki, and is about 50 yards from the beach. You literally walk out the front door, cross the 4 lane highway and you are on the beach. You can turn right and walk along the beach road, passing many eating establishments, fast food and regular, and tons of shops. The hotel sits between two small grocery stores (ABC stores) that sell drinks and food. The rooms are a little small, but we only used the room for sleeping, of which we had no problem doing after exploring Hawaii several hours each day. There is a travel assistance center in the lobby and the employees can schedule any type of tour or activity you want to undertake. If you explore on your own, the city buses travel all over the Island. There is a bus stop about 25 feet from the front door of the hotel. Buses 19 and 20 will take you back and forth to the airport. The ride takes about 1 hour and costs $2.50 per adult and $1 per child under 18 as of December 2009. (no change provided by driver)You bus stop is almost at the end of the line, and just past the zoo. It is the Park Shore Hotel stop. If you rent a car, almost all hotels charge $20 per day for parking. You can also catch city buses to Pearl Harbor from the hotel (bus 20 or 42). Pearl Harbor tickets are free but disappear fast, so you want to arrive before 8am to get your boat transport and movie ticket. Note on buses, there is no luggage storage so your bags are regulated to what you can carry in your lap. If you stay at the hotel, make sure you ride the elevator to the top floor for a great sunrise. The sun rises from behind Diamond Head. Your hotel room has a small fridge, about big enough to keep a few drinks cold and some sandwich material if you are looking to save a few dollars on food, which is quite expensive. Expect to pay over $10 for a cheeseburger from a non-fast food establishment. If I ever return to Hawaii I would strongly consider staying at this hotel for its location and price.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are many places to eat along the beach, many just a short walk from the hotel. Within two blocks of the hotel you have both of the fast food burger chains, Subway, and several higher priced establishments.

great value

Very kind staff and excellent service. Location cannot be any better – unobstructed view of Diamond Head and ocean. Room cleanliness and amenities about average. Open swimming pool on 3rd floor with great view on ocean. There is only about 50 yards from the hotel entrance to the beach, after crossing the Kalakaua street. The ABC shop with food, drinks, footwear, clothing and souvenirs accessible from within the hotel.

Park Shore does the trick

Park Shore had an awesome location and overall was a convenient place to stay. Wakiki is BUSY so don't expect some quiet getaway. The room was basic and not very new but who wants to hide out in the room anyway? Awesome restaurant next door called Lulu's has killer breakfast and good music at night. It is about 25 steps from the front of the hotel to the sand. Lots of other places to eat and shop too. Valets are on top of it and can get you a cab or shuttle quick. Convenience store right next door. You will hear noise from the beach, other hotels and the nearby hostel (which was raging). The hotel staff was friendly and took care of everything we needed. If you are not really picky about the room and want to have an awesome spot to adventure from, this hotel does the trick.

Hanauma bay is great for snorkelling but the parking lot fills up fast. Bring your own gear and just get a shuttle there. They will take you right to the front. North Shore is beautiful..check out Waimea Falls. Takes a while to get there, I recommend coming back to Waikiki using H2 through the center of the island. Take the coast on the way there if you've never been. Honolulu is the capital and has 5 lane commuter traffic just like Cali. Be ready for it. The west sideof the island is kinda run down and localized so watch yourself if you are going exploring there.

Good location

Problem with us is that there was no hotel owned parking space .They charged 20.00$ aday for the nearby parking space and it was taken care by the hotel staff. Other problem is they don't even provide morning coffee for free. No ironing facility. Room is somewhat small and less luxorious.Otherwise hotel is OK. Staff is friendly. Good thing is location.Across the street is the ocean and beach. And it's right on Waikiki center and good to stroll on the street.Night life is right there beside the hotel.

Pretty good!

We were supposed to go up to the room and meet our friends at Lulu's downstairs, laid down for a 10 minutes, ended up knocking out! Not sure if we were too tired (which I doubt) or the bed was comfortable, but we stood 'em up! 'Nough said!
