Perfect last minute reservation for two

Hotel staff was very friendly all the time, and at all hours of the night. We locked our key card in the room twice and they made us an extra one both times without making us feel stupid and even checked our ID before they issued it. A very safe place to stay. The restaurant attached to the hotel has the best breakfast on the strip...$12-$15 paid for a great breakfast and Kona coffee even on a surfers appetite. A surfboard lessons and rental company is also attached to the hotel with great quality boogie boards and surfboards.

The Westin Hotel "beach bar" under the banyan tree right on the beach has the best appetizers and beach drink had a very reasonable price. The main restaurant at the Waikiki beach Westin Hotel on the other hand is extremely expensive!

Big disappointment

Room very, very small, marijuana odor coming into room from vents, room smelled moldy. Front desk moved myself and my daughter to another room and I was charged an extra $300 for the week. The new room was very noisy with delivery trucks arriving at 5am for deliveries. On the plus side, the pool was always in the sun.

Pretty good!

We were supposed to go up to the room and meet our friends at Lulu's downstairs, laid down for a 10 minutes, ended up knocking out! Not sure if we were too tired (which I doubt) or the bed was comfortable, but we stood 'em up! 'Nough said!

Disappointed in Room

There were no problems but we were very disappointed in the room. The carpet was old and dirty. Dresser, night stand, tv old. Bed comfortable. The room was very small and just very out dated.

Nice location but very unclean

The good: great location, new big screen TV, small bar fridge, fairly comfortable bed The bad: very unclean, poor housekeeping, very overpriced, similar to a hostel. For my vacation dollar, I would stay elsewhere. The level of uncleanliness was shocking (gray, dirty curtains with blood stains, layers of soap scum in shower, rust and soap scum in sink, grout in bathroom very dirty, black scuff marks on walls, dirty floors)

good location

The rooms are small and they are in need of some renovation, but you're right across the street from the beach and it's the closest Waikiki hotel to Diamond Head.

Sunday brunch at The Outrigger Hotel is reasonably priced for Waikiki. The food is good and the views are outstanding. Don't forget the half-priced mimosas.

Needs Updating

Great location - across the street from the beach and adjacent to the park. I stayed here about 26 yrs ago. It seems as though the rooms have not been updated since then. Hard pillows, so-so mattress, and dated decor. Even the lobby is dated. A few bucks spent on an update would make this a nice property. Apart from that, we were surpised by the hotel wanting to charge us $30 extra per night for our 3rd guest. That was strange to us, since our reservation was always for 3 guests. They are either dishonest or disorganized.

Vacation Get Away

Hotel was right across the street from the Zoo. Beautiful view of the ocean and of Diamond Head State Monument from Hotel Balcony. Great food, entertainment and shopping all within the hotel itself. The beach right across the street made it convenient for trips back and forth to the Room. Spent a few hours at the pool and area is well maintained and clean.
