best for your money

This is not a four star resort but for the amount of time that you spend in the room and the location to the beach and shopping it was great! this is also a great location to get into and out of waikiki as it is at the end of the strip. the room was always cleaned and there are numerous local resturants and chain resturants within walking distance. as long as you are not looking for all the extra amenities this is your best bang for your dollar

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

look for hole in the wall resturants that are close by if there are local cars there then the food is usually good and plentiful and inexpensive! we saw at one of the resturants on waikiki nachos appetizer for $30. yet at rainbow drive in a full plate of food for 2 for $7.

Park Shore by the shore

Park Shore Waikiki is located across the street from a nice beach and next to the Honolulu Zoo and Aquarium. The oceanview rooms have a great view of Diamond Head and the ocean. Ask for the highest floor available. The rooms are small but large enough for two people, though only one person can be in the bathroom at a time. The carpeting is worn and stained, and the air-conditioning is acceptable but not ice-cold. The bus stops right outside and you can easily walk to many restaurants and stores. Noise was barely a problem, and only on weekend nights. The hotel is located at the end of the busiest Waikiki street and there are no other hotels on one side. I recommend the Park Shore and I would stay there again.

Great Location for Price

Great price and great location...the rooms are small, as most in the area tend to be. The bed is really the only thing...could have been more comfortable and items in the room could be updated...but honestly, for the price...cannot beat it! I also had a GREAT massage at a sister hotel (Bamboo)...all in all for the price - good stuff - I would go back!

Great Location but........

We stayed here for 2 nights, it is right accross the stree from the beach which was very convienient. The room had a great view of the ocean.......but was very dated (old) and the air conditioning was either on or off, no controls. Valet parking only, which was $20.00 extra a night.

View on a budget

Park Shore Waikiki is an older hotel at the most northern end of Waikiki Beach. I thought the room was very rundown--it needs paint and new furnishings couldn't hurt. The bathtub stopper was not attached (so that when I pulled it up it came flying out with hair attached, landing on the floor behind the toilet). We left it there and used a hand towel to keep water in the tub. The room was adequate in size and a microwave would be nice. Now it gets good--the View is great. We stayed in room 721 (Oceanfront). The pool(which is on the 3rd floor) was directly below and the Ocean across the street. Lulu's Grill has good drinks and food on the 2nd floor of the hotel and next door is Tiki's bar and grill. In the lobby of the hotel there is internet access for a fee (like an ATM machine). A small business center with free access would have been nice. Overall we had a good stay.

Great location

I was going to Hawaii for only a weekend, to attend a concert at the Shell. This was the perfect hotel for such an event, as it was walking distance to virtually everything I needed. It was nothing fancy but very very clean. The bed was so comfortable! The staff was very friendly. When my fire alarm started chirping due to a low battery, they had someone up there immediately! I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend it to others. And a most gorgeous view from the pool! I highly recommend it.

A one of the most stunning views of waikiki beach from here, Diamond Head on your left, landmark hotels on your right. The zoo across the street. Close to shopping, dining and lots of activities in daytime as well as night entertainment. A fun place to hang out.

beach lovers

The park shore hotel is very convenient and has the most fine location in waikiki: in front of the beach with a beautiful view, even the pool is beach view, besides capiolani park for taking a walk or bicycle ride, buses stop at the door to visit waikiki or honolulu,or hanauma bay. Buses can take you for a circle tour of Oahu at only 2$! All the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are little with old rug and furniture but give you all your needs: a balcony, small fridge, coffee maker with coffee provided each day, a table and 2 chairs. We had two double beds, a bathroom with a bath and plenty of space for our clothes. Beach towels were given us each day at the lobby. We spent a very good time at the park shore, the best hotel in waikiki at a reasonable price, for beach and nature's lovers.
