A local favorite in the heart of Waikiki across from the beach

Comfort meets convenience at Pacific Beach Hotel, one of Waikiki's favorite, locally-owned hotels. Find yourself in the heart of the action on famed Kalakaua Avenue and across the street from the best swimming and sunning stretch of Waikiki Beach. More than 800 rooms offer island-style relaxation and remarkable ocean views. The Pacific Beach Hotel is one of only a few Waikiki hotels with a tennis court and the three-story, 280,000-gallon indoor aquarium is a trademark attraction.

Highlights
  • SNUBA dive with more than 70 sea creatures in the hotel's 280,000-gallon aquarium
  • Tennis courts with tennis pro on staff
  • newly renovated 24 -Hour Fitness location onsite

Location

The Pacific Beach Hotel sits across the street from Waikiki Beach's best stretch of sand and swimming and right on Waikiki's most happening shopping and dining strip. The Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium and 200-acre Kapiolani Park are about a 10- to 15-minute walk from the hotel.

Dining

Even locals line up at Oceanarium, the hotel's signature restaurant. Surrounding a 280,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, the restaurant attracts visitors as much for the views as the extravagant island-style brunch, dinner and weekend buffets.

Great Location

The location is great right across the street from surf breaks and rental boards. Partial ocean view has a nice view from the balcony. The buffet had great crab legs, the other food was average. Only complaint is the 25 dollars a day parking fee.

Pacific Beach Hotel

I love the location, it's right across from Waikiki Beach, and because I got the complimentary free upgrade to ocean view, we had the full view of the ocean from our balcony. The only thing I didn't like was that the only accessible gym is the 24hour fitness that requires guests to pay, and room service came kind of late and forgot to replace our beach towels.

Location, location!

If location is important, Pacific Beach is it. But because of its great location, be prepared to withstand "street noise" from cars and trucks, including early-morning service trucks, buses. Sometimes there's noise in the halls becuase of inconsiderate guests, but that's life. Hotel is a bit pricey for its offerings, but that's Waikii for you! Restaurant buffet that was $45 is a great deal, especially for seafood lovers.

Islander Review

Drain was clogged in the shower and the coffee maker in the room was not clean. There was some kind of particles in the pot after the water was brewed. The location is great and this helped us get to our destination and do our business with no problems.

Hotel Downer

Spa located at this hotel claimed I didn't make reservations when I made it 2 months in advance. Reservation was not on file. Staff told us Or bitz didn't send the modified reservation. Key didn't work for the assigned room. After re-keying the room card, unable to get in only to find out it was occupied. We waited quite some time to get another room. I was disappointed at their ocean view rooms. I felt I didn't wake up to the ocean but had to step outside to the balcony and view it from one side of the balcony. Don't care much for the complimentary dinner. I'd rather spend more, stay at a well-known hotel and not have to deal with this hassle.

vintage feel..but great location!

the best part about this hotel is the location. its definitely in the primary location of center Waikiki, so you can pretty much walk to any main destination. the hotel itself is very average, nothing special, it has a vintage feel with a lot of families running around. the room was spacious with a balcony. the only thing that bothered me was the front desk service. they never picked up their phones! i am not sure if i will stay here again but, overall, it was good for the price.

Best hotel to stay at!

This hotel was in the perfect location! We walked out of the hotel and were right In the center of shopping and entertainment! A quick walk across the street and it was on the best part of the beach! If I came back to Hawaii, this is definitely the place I would stay again. Everyone was so friendly as well!

Had a wonderful time

Staff was friendly and hotel was close to all shops, beach, restaurants and transportation was so convenient. We took the bus to Pearl Harbor by going to a bus stop half a block away. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and will make sure to stay here on my next visit

Go for the beach, not the pool!

Good value and best location for going to the beach. DO NOT even go to the pool/hot tube area. The pool/hot tub may have been the worst I've seen in a loooog time.
