Pacific Beach Hotel, Oahu
Location
The Pacific Beach Hotel in Hawaii's Oahu is a haven for both children and those who once were children. The three-story, 280,000-gallon aquarium is a big hit, along with the arcade, pool and whirlpool. For the sports enthusiast, there are on-site tennis courts and jogging trails nearby. The Oceanarium Restaurant will draw everyone to the table with a colorful seafood buffet, and the Polynesian Dinner Show is a fire-blazing spectacle not to be missed. The hotel also wins points for being one of the most environmentally friendly locations on the island of Oahu; certain rooms use only recycled or biodegradable products and limit energy consumption.

Many famous chain restaurants can be found, including California Pizza Kitchen. The Honolulu Zoo is only a 10-minute walk away.
Highlights

The Pacific Beach Hotel is home to the Premiere Polynesian Dinner Show, which is held on select nights throughout the week. Great View

When we walked into the room, the first thing we saw was a great view out the balcony window, Diamond Head and the ocean. Never got tired of seeing it. The room was very adequite for the three od us, two double beds and a cot. All were very comfortable. The breakfast buffets were excellent and the service was very good. The oceanarium was a pleasant sight to watcg while eating. The location was excellent, accross the street from the beach, plenty of shopping and places to eat.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Beach right accross the street. Pickup right outside the hotel for several different tours, Arizona and Honolulu tour, submarine dive, scouba diving, sunset dinner cruise, and of course a fabulous luau. Walked a few blocks to the bus that took us on a grand circle tour of the island (do not miss that).

Great Hotel

The Pacific Beach hotel is a great hotel, excellent location. My room had a balcony with a SPECTACULAR view looking out over Waikiki Bay, and the setting sun. As a bonus the main dining room has a 3-story fishtank as one of the walls. Great space.

great room with no notice vacancy

This is a great hotel experience from the beginning to the end. What started as a one day stay expanded to five days and worth every dollar. I started with a one-day stay thinking that if the hotel was not as nice as I had hoped that I would find another one. The hotel was beautiful, from the lobby to the room. Dining in was fanastic, a buffet to please anyone. The tour center was staffed by knowledgeable local people who knew who to call for reservations on any of the islands and what each tour did and didn't have. My room was upgraded when I arrived and I stayed in a room with views of the ocean, mountains and city...just beautiful.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

By staying in this hotel, you can walk across the street to the beach, stoll down the street for the finest shopping ever, and enjoy the street entertainers or night clubs or numerous resturants. My favorite brunch was at the Treetop Cafe in the International Marketplace.

Very friendly hotel

The Pacific Beach Hotel has a very friendly atmosphere. The concierge met us on the day we checked in and we did not see him for another two days. He saw us walking through the lobby and remembered our names. It is VERY usual because I have a very unusual first name and it is difficult for most people to pronounce. That impressed my husband and me. For the price we paid for the hotel accommodations, I expected more. When I say more, I mean the hotel could have had more up to date furniture. I was on the elevator with another guest and he said that he stayed in the hotel 10 years ago and much has not changed.

Very Family Friendly

The Pacific Beach Hotel was a great hotel for the price we paid. The staff was excellent and accomadated our every need. The rooms might need to be somewhat updated but, they were still comfortable. It is very conveniently located right across from Waikiki Beach. Everything you need is within walking distance. The restaurants were excellent!

36 FLOOR, GREAT VIEW

This was our first trip to Hawaii and found our hotel to be very nice. The only bad point was the carpet in our room which was old and stained. We were on the 36th floor and had a GREAT view. Other than that everything else was perfect.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Everything is nearby, shops, beach, etc. etc. The tours that you can take are very good except we found trying to do the big island in one day is not a good idea because they try to show you to much in such a short time. 10 minutes per stop! We would NOT do that trip again.

Great value for the money

We stayed at Pacific beach the end of May 2008 for our honeymoon. This hotel is a great value for the money. The free daily buffet breakfast which you can get in both of their restaurants is very good, although I believe this is seasonal. The weather was great, averaged about 85. Temps rarely go above 90 degrees any time of the year. The beach was right across the street. There is a really good hamburger rest a block away called Paradise Hamburgers (they serve other sandwiches also). The location is excellent. The Pacific Beach is in the heart of everything. Lots of shops and restaurants and some bars. It is 10 min walk to the Int'l Marketplace, a really nice place to shop. They bargain there. Only 5-10 min to the zoo. Waikiki is a great place for walking if you like that. Many of the tour buses stop at Pacific Beach. The staff are very nice! Housekeeping was excellent. The only drawbacks we saw were the pool is pretty small (mostly a kiddie pool) and there were a couple of stains in the carpet. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely go back!! Waikiki is a great place to stay. Everyone is so friendly. It is like a city within paradise. As in any city you must be careful with personal belongings.

Cheesecake Factory and Red Lobster in area also. ABC stores on every block are a little expensive but great for conveniences like water, milk, coffee, souveniers. If you spend $100 in them you get a free Hawaiian coffee mug or calendar.

Very friendly hotel

The Pacific Beach Hotel is a very comfortable hotel to stay in. The rooms are pretty spacious for a family. They have a great dining room in the hotel that has a HUGE aquarium with alot of sea life, including sharks that swim around while you dine. Great for kids and grownups alike to enjoy without going into the water. From the front desk personal upon check-in to the valet attendants...they are very professional, accomodating and best of all they are a group of employees with great personalities! They have the ALOHA spirit which is hard to find in these stressful and difficult times. Please tell the hotel employees know that their services are greatly appreciated....
