A local favorite in the heart of Waikiki across from the beach

Comfort meets convenience at Pacific Beach Hotel, one of Waikiki's favorite, locally-owned hotels. Find yourself in the heart of the action on famed Kalakaua Avenue and across the street from the best swimming and sunning stretch of Waikiki Beach. More than 800 rooms offer island-style relaxation and remarkable ocean views. The Pacific Beach Hotel is one of only a few Waikiki hotels with a tennis court and the three-story, 280,000-gallon indoor aquarium is a trademark attraction.

  • SNUBA dive with more than 70 sea creatures in the hotel's 280,000-gallon aquarium

Honeymooner2012

When I first booked this online there was a special where you received 2 free breakfast per each day of your stay but when I checked in they said it wasn't offered online. They referred me to a customer service person but I didn't call because I was on my honeymoon and didn't want to waste my time on the phone. I was sent a survey about the call which I never spoke with anyone, the hotel desk clerk called you not me.

Great Location Only Thing Going for It

I think a Holiday Inn would have been better than this place. It feels old and stale like a cheap hotel in Vegas. Uncomfortable bed, no comforter, old furniture, stained walls and carpet. Too expensive for what you get.

Great Location

My room had a wonderful view of Waikiki, however, here are the details. When I checked in, my key card wouldn't open the door. So, when I called down to the lobby from the 11th floor, they expected me (the customer) to go back down to get a new key. One morning, I awoke to loud dripping from the ceiling in the vanity area. The vanity chair was soaked. I tried to call both the front desk and housekeeping...no answer for over 5 minutes. So, I went downstairs to tell them they had a problem. When maintenance came to the room to look, he said it always happens. Also, the free breakfast is not really a good deal. The food was not good. The eggs were awful, fruit was poor quality and the coffee not good. And last, but not least, the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were down fluffy at all. No, I would not stay here again...even with a tremendous view. A dissatisfied Customer

Good,bad & uncomfortable.

We requested to move to a different room since it was more city view than ocean view and my vacation pack supposed to included this, staff relocate us, but still was less than I expected. AC was leaking, bathroom and closet door fail to close.

Good location but dated.

It took almost one hour for us to check in. The hotel said that they had not received the booking information from [...] for our one night stay. I had a print-out of the reservation but they would not accept it and waited for a fax to be sent from [...]. When we arrived there was one receptionist on the front desk and a line of 5 people behind me waiting for help - they weren't particularly well organized. Our room was not particularly clean and we had some unwanted visitors - at least two three inch water/palmetto bugs. Not the best experience, although the night time buffet and breakfast was good.

Right on the main strip in Waikiki

Upon arrival, the hotel looks expensive and luxurious as you enter the lobby. The aquarium is quite impressive. The hotel staff was warm and very friendly. The hotel room, though, was plain and small with two double beds. The furniture looked like it was 30 years old. Cracked woodwork in the doorway of the bathroom could use some repairs. However, the room was clean and if you don't intend to spend any time in the room other than to sleep, it can be a pleasant stay.

Keoni's restaurant for breakfast a few blocks away is good. Had dinner at the Shorebird's restaurant several more blocks away and you grill your own meat or fish. Great salad bar complements your main entree. Lots of fun.

Our experience at Pacific Beach Hotel.

We ate at the Pacifi Ocean resturant and the food was good. One watress was helpful. Bellperson was very helpful with directions to local places around the beach area. There is something missing, I wish I was told it was going to cost me extra to use the computer, the exercise room and the cost for parking for 5 days was $90.00. It cost us more than we budgeted. That was not fair.
