Great Experience
We were a little bit apprehensive after reading some of the negative reviews, but our experience was excellent! No bed bugs! Fabulous view of Waikiki beach from our balcony. The hotel location is just across the street from Waikiki beach and all the shopping you could ever want to experience. We could get free WiFi on our balcony from the McDonalds across the street. Lots of good eating right in the hotel (inside & outside dining). There are so many good places to eat within walking distance and the usual fast food places. ABC stores are on every corner and provide more reasonable prices on a wide variety of things (including food & drink) in Waikiki. Personnel at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. There is a cooked fish smell in the entrance area by the restaurant, but it wasn't unpleasant and we didn't spend much time there anyway. The huge fish tank with a wide variety of interesting fish, etc., is interesting to watch. The elevators worked well and we never waited long to get to our 11th floor room. It would have been nice to have use of a microwave (can be rented), but we enjoyed the refrig and Kona coffee/tea that was provided. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion were appreciated. The rooms are good sized and clean. If you are concerned about having the latest decor and furnishings, you may want to go elsewhere. We found everything to be very satisfactory and comfortable. Don't forget to request beach towels from the front desk. You can also rent toys, strollers, etc. for your family (on second floor). Concierge was very helpful with information and directions. We were very happy with our accommodations and would definitely stay there again!

Great Location
The hotel was nice and clean, but pretty basic. It was very close to Waikiki if you like hanging out at the beach and walking through shops. It was easy to get to other locations especially if you had a car. I would stay there again.

Room disappointment
We were told that we could have a King bed on the web site but when we got there only got 2 doubles. I almost fell out of bed several times. 9 nights and they could never switch us without an upgrade charge even though we have been going to this hotel since 1984. Sort of disappointing . Other than that the room was quiet as they put us on the floor with flight crews and they just wanted to sleep... For the first time in years I will now consider a different hotel on our next trip.

Buyer Beware
I had two rooms booked for the hotel. when I arrived, it took me more than 30 minutes to have the reservation staff accommodate my party. I was given two rooms with two double beds. I needed one with just a king size bed. I was informed that in order to get a king bed, it would be more. I was even told that I couldn't get rooms higher than the sixth floor in the smaller of the two main buildings due to my selection it would cost more be on a higher floor. I finally convinced them to give one room with a king size bed. I would have rather stayed somewhere else knowing all the details than to be so manipulated by the staff.

The staff was rude and inconsiderate, called about a/c not working in room suffered all night from stuffiness and heat. They wouldn't even offer me another room, and when asked to be moved to a different room they claimed there wasn't one they were totally booked. Please don't send your clients to this hotel they are horrible.

Clean decent hotel. Nothing fancy. Good for the price. The bed was really hard. Two FULL beds was annoying. Queens would be nice.

Smokers' Paradise
I booked a non-smoking room thru this website (not guaranteed to be non-smoking by this website, however)--checked in after midnight, and surprise--all the non-smoking rooms were gone. Entire floor I was placed on smelled like an old casino, and the room reeked of smoke. Things got better when I opened the sliding balcony door, until a nearby neighbor lit up, and my room was filled with fresh smoke. Old fixtures, old bed, old carpet, all impregnated with old smoke. Hotel moved me to a non-smoking room the following day; checked out of this room and after 3 pm checked into a non-smoking room. It was actually tempting to spend the first night in my rental car in the parking lot. I've stayed all over Waikiki, and this was among the worst, and far from the cheapest I've stayed at. I won't be back.

Location, location, location!
We spent two nights and found the room to be just fine--clean, comfortable, with an in-room safe, which we appreciated. The best part, though, was its location right on Waikiki beach.

In Hotel
The hotel's little outdoor cafe serves good casual food with live entertainment. You can have a drink at a sidewalk table and take in a warm, sunny evening and watch the world go by. Heaven in the middle of winter back home.
