A local favorite in the heart of Waikiki across from the beach

Comfort meets convenience at Pacific Beach Hotel, one of Waikiki's favorite, locally-owned hotels. Find yourself in the heart of the action on famed Kalakaua Avenue and across the street from the best swimming and sunning stretch of Waikiki Beach. More than 800 rooms offer island-style relaxation and remarkable ocean views. The Pacific Beach Hotel is one of only a few Waikiki hotels with a tennis court and the three-story, 280,000-gallon indoor aquarium is a trademark attraction.

Good location

The Pacific Beach is right across the street from the beach and the ocean. The room was adequate for a base and somewhere to sleep. Beware of anything that you are told by the front desk, we purchased a parking pass for $10 per day, and were told that at the end of our stay, we could cash in the balance if not used. Of 5 days of parking we only used 3 days and expected to get $20 back. We were told no that the use date had passed and we were out of luck for a refund. I had asked for a king size room and were told that they had overbooked and again we were out of luck!? Location was good but get any questions answered in writting.

Very nice stay

My husband and I stayed at the PB Hotel December 2011 during an obviously very busy time of year. We were able to get an excellent last minute detail through O which included breakfast every morning. The breakfast is really good and included a full all you can eat buffet with so many choices. The room was clean and quiet and came with free sealed toothbrushes and toothpaste, which we thought was very nice. The room included a fridge but no microwave. The ocean view room means that you have a balcony on the side of the building with a view of the ocean. This is different from the "Ocean Front" which means that the room has a balcony which overlooks the beach. The location was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful "Christmas in Hawaii"

We loved our stay at the Pacific Beach Hotel .. It was a great location, the staff was great ... and the rooms had a great view of the beach, etc. Our only problem ... we had requested a king size bed, and our room had two single beds .. not good for "honeymooners" !!! Other than that, all was super..... Thanks sooo much ... Margie & Norman ... Oklahoma

This place wasn't the best, but it was reasonably priced. I would stay again, only if I was on a budget. If you have money to stay somewhere nicer, I would do that. If not, this is fine.

Disappointing Bargain Hunt

Arrived at 10:30 PM to find sink that wouldn't drain and TV remote that didn't work. Room looked like it hadn't been renovated since our last stay ten years ago. Staff was quick to move us to a room that worked, with same aged appearance.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

SpeediShuttle is one of the options for getting from the airport to Waikiki Beach hotels. It isn't cheap, but the Mercedes vans are nice. Buying a round trip ticket saves a few dollars. However, read the print-out receipt carefully. The hustling agent got both the date and time of our return appointment wrong. They were off by one day and 12 hours! Next time I will use taxis.

Good Hotel

I loved my stay at this hotel eventhough I wasn't sure at first because I didn't know it, but I was happy there, it has a perfect location in front of Waikiki Beach, comfortable room sizes, and they don't charge the resort fee like others, I would came back again for sure.

Needs Some Refurbishing

If you want the middle of Waikiki, then you'll like this locale, rooms are stark, old beds, in desperate need of refurbishing, I'd give it a "C". Not a 3 star room as we described on the website by any means.

Staycation in Paradise

The main reason I booked this hotel was because of the pictures of the aquarium. My daughters would have been captiated. But, I didn't see any fishes in the aquarium when we were there. Although, I would stay there again because of the price, it needs softer beds. We did have a great view of the ocean and street below. All in all, it was an ok stay.

Had a wonderful time

Staff was friendly and hotel was close to all shops, beach, restaurants and transportation was so convenient. We took the bus to Pearl Harbor by going to a bus stop half a block away. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and will make sure to stay here on my next visit
