Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach

This was our first stay in Hawaii, and the Outrigger Waikiki was a pleasant first experience. It was casual but well appointed. The room was more than adequate, with a small balcony to view the ocean. We had a Partial-View room, but it was very nice. There was a closet area for hanging suits and dresses, and the area was equipped with a safe for valuables, an ironing board and iron, and a hair dryer. The only feature we didn't like was that the tub was half length, so you couldn't stretch out in it. The shower, though, had an adjustable nozzle and plenty of water strength, so that compensated. One feature we appreciated was the key secured elevator, so only guests could reach the floors. The ground floor had shops and activity areas. A negative there was the very agressive TimeShare sales force. We were approached at least once as we stepped off the elevator (every time). Not pleasant at all for a ten day stay. There were many dining opportunities, including Chuck's Steak House (upscale dining),Hula Grill(a little less formal), and even a Lunch and Sandwich shop, where you could stock up for a picnic on a remote beach. Our favorite, however, was Duke's Canoe Club and Barefoot Bar. The bar had a thatched roof and plenty of Island Atmosphere. You could get drinks, appetizers or a snack in your flip flops and shorts. On the other side were tables and cusioned chairs where there were breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets- a very good value. They also had wonderful fresh fish. The final attribute of this hotel was its location right on Waikiki Beach, a mere handful of steps from Duke's covered or outdoor tables. And a Catamaran rental was right there if you wanted more adventure. We loved it.

Beautiful and located right in the middle of things! Has the best restaurant, Dukes, right there in the hotel! The staff is very helpful, very professional and are always there when you need them. I will stay there again!

Room was right next to the service elevator causing many disruptions and the room did not have a bath. Was somewhat disappointing for the price paid. Wireless internet service is not available in the rooms only in the lobby and by the pool.

Great Location right on the beach and across from the international market. Rooms were clean and in good condition. Staff was extremly friendly and helpful.

Die freundlichsten Menschen auf der Welt! Ein Super Hotel an Super Lage. Freundliche Mitarbeiter wo man hin sieht. Jeden Tag sauber! Für gechilltes Leben im Hotel, das einzige was mich genervt hat, waren die langen Wartezeiten auf den Lift :-D aber so was vergisst man dank all diesen Menschen und diesem Hotel dort! Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!

Ideales Hotel für kurze Aufenthalte, Preis Leistung und Lage sind ausgezeichnet.

bon sejour je connaissais deja cet hotel depuis 8 ans il y a eu des changements et en particulier a la reception (j'ai, pas choisi le bon comptoir)un certain mr ALEX a brille par son manque d'amabilite et limite insolent je n'y peux rien s'il a un probleme avant moi ! donc on s'inscrit sans commentaires pas la peine de demander uns chambre plus vers la mer meme categorie.....et non plus de pouvoir rester jusqu'a 18h enpayant bien sur!! heureusement que le jour du depart ce mr etant absent j' ai retrouve une figure plus amicale qui a arrange le depart tardif en dehors de ça le sejour etait tres bien je recommanderais l'hotel mais please fuyez alex!!!!!

Wir waren das erste mal vor 30 Jahren in Honolulu Wunderschön, Traumhaft kein vergleich zu Heute. im der Hotel Bars war eine richtige Ballermann Stimmung Frühstück jeden Tag das gleiche Essen Abendessen ohne Reservation ging fast gar nicht Pool liegen waren beim öffnen des Pools schon 3/4 belegt (was macht ein gutes Trinkgeld nicht alles aus) Aktivitäten, Liegen, Schirme am Strand fast nicht bezahlbar (45 USD) pro Tag 2 Liegen und ein Schirm

Saubere, grosszügige Zimmer. Tolle Restaurants, direkt am Beach, freundliches Personal

Nice Hotel and great location BUT do NOT go there in summer time if you want to rest or if you have children! It is much too loud with local bands and drunken college kids making noise every night til 2 or 3am. Not to mention numerous hotel parties. Other than that, great staff and good restaurants.
