"Home away from Home"
This was our first time in Hawaii and it was all & more that I could have ever imagined. I picked Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach by the description & pictures on line. I must say it was exactly as pictured. The location was spectacular; we were right on the beach & our room had a partial ocean view. The staff was very accomodating & friendly. My husband forgot his razor & I called down to the front desk to see if they had a complimentary razor & not only did they have one, they brought it up to our room within minutes. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been a complimentary breakfast. We stayed 7days & breakfast was a little steep every morning in their restaurant. I must say it was awesome & I would do it all over again!

great location, great service
The best thing about this hotel is the location. Centrally located in down town waikiki and with easy beach access. The beach is only a couple of feet from when you get off the elevator. Great restaurants with awesome views of the beach. The hotel even gives you beach towels and are able to rent varies beach stuff. The bad thing about this hotel is that it is located on a very loud and busy street. When we first got there we were located on the 1st floor right next to the street. Even though it was a city view room it had a great view of the beach and ocean, however, we could hear all the street noises and the clubs across the street. We asked to change rooms and they moved us to the 10th floor with an even better view. It was still noisy but not as bad. The room had everything but a microwave and we asked for one and they brought it up. The staff really did everything to make us feel comfortable and answered all our questions and helped us with getting around and maps of the area. Would stay here again but would rather try out a hotel further away from the crowds since we rented a car. Oh yeah, its 25 dollars a day to park your car but well worth it. We never had to wait to get our car and with the valet parking it was easy getting in and out.

Great!
We loved that you can walk right out of the elevator and right out to the beach. The pool was great for the kids. And centrally located with shops and restaraunts. We were offered a room upgrade for a partial ocean view, totally worth the extra $20/night. The only thing we didn't like was that you have to pay $25/day for valet parking at the hotel. It would have even been better if the price was a little lower...not necessarily free, but that would have been great too!

1st timers- a great time had by all!
This was our 1st trip to Hawaii- we took our 2 grown sons along. The hotel was great - I would definitely recommend it. The location was perfect and we loved having direct access to the beach. Eating breakfast at Hula's with a view of the beach was one of my favorite things to do! We got to do about everything we wanted. It would have been nice to have a map showing the location of places to eat within walking distance and a handout on how to use the city bus and/or trolley. Remind folks to budget extra $$ for shopping at the ABC stores!

I'd stay there again!
This was my husband and my first time at the Outrigger on the Beach and we loved it! There were a couple of highlights about the hotel. 1) Good Customer Service - When we were checking in I mentioned that it was our 1 yr anniversary and the person gave us a complimentary upgrade on the room. Also, whenever we had a question for the Concierge, the person was very very helpful! It saved us time and money! 2) The location - It's right on the beach and in the middle of what I like to call "the strip". Wherever and whenever... everything was at our fingertips!! It was especially nice when we went to the beach for a swim! All we had to do is jump right out of the ocean and two seconds later we jump right into the shower! Another thing that I like about the hotel was that there were three main restaurant that all had a view of the ocean (if you asked to sit in the right place). My hotel experience was b.e.a.utiful! I'd stay there again in a heart beat! ...the only down side to the hotel... depending on what time of the day it is, the elevators can take forever... you'll see! Lol!

It's ON the Beach!
Possibly the best location in Waikiki. Hotel's on the beach, there no need to exit or cross the street. Shower, food, bar is conveniently located with a full view. Local restaurants, shopping centers are within 1 block. Noisy, constant party and activities. If you plan to sleep 12 hours a day, this place is not for you.

Awesome Trip!
Our trip to the Outrigger was fantastic. The rooms were very clean, and we had an ocean view room, which was awesome. Staff was VERY friendly and the hotel was in the prime location of Waikiki Beach. They also have 3 very good restaurants. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the noise outside of our hotel room. At times, it seemed the walls must have been paper thin. One night our neighbors had their TV on and i could hear what it was saying pretty clearly. I was also awakened several times by loud people out in the hallway and slamming of doors. But despite that, everything else was great and I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful
The hotel was very conveniently located and well-maintained. It was nice to stay there and be at the beach except Kalakaua street was very noisy and you can hear everything in the hotel room. I would've liked to leave the sliding door open a little in the evening to hear the ocean but there was no way. Overall it is a beautiful hotel, but they need to work on sound reinforcement to improve the guest experience.

Do not take so many tours, because you spend too much time on buses and not enough just enjoying Hawaii. Take short tours or one every other day or so.
