Outrigger Luana Waikiki

Loud traffic noise, and on the main route for police and ambulance to waikiki (all night). Noisy and slow elevators (can hear them in your room all night). Not very close to the beach...I wouldn't stay there again.

Was OK for the price.

Overall I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR YOU TO STAY, please stay AWAY ITS MISLEADING HOTEL to say the least ,I have seen BUGS AND COCKROACHES!!! DIRTY YUK!! STAFFING RUDE except the housekeeping,nice BUT ONLY CLEAN THE ROOM AFTER COMPLAINING . that it,,,very very misleading WATCH OUT FOR THIS HOPEL its OVERATED WITH the name OUTRIGGER AND DOES NOT COMPARE WITH OUTRIGGER ITS MORE LIKE A NIGHTMARE SHACK/MOTEL RATING 1-2MAYBE, DONT BOTHER!!! 1st of all we were told we will stay in 9th floor and we got 5th fllor THE WORST BUSY SIDE POSSIBLE ,motorcycle and gas station below with tons of noisy. 2nd there was coucrouches on the elevator and hallways. 3rd. I was told there was a juccuzi but not such thing. 3rd I was told by rating and hotel that the swimming pool its nice and big NOPE it actually its a tiny pool and no kid friendly. 4th they said continental breakfast but there's no such thing. OVERALL IT WAS A MISREPRENSENTED AND MISPLEAD WITH LIES HOTEL. ONE STFIING WAS SOO RUDE NEVER WANTED TO WORK WITH US AND GIVE US ANOTHER ROOM LESS NOISE THEY SAID WE HAVE TO UPGRADE AND PAY MORE..i APOLOGIES FOR MY SPELL ERROR BUT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS HOTEL STAY!!!

The Outrigger Luana Waikiki was reasonably comfortable. Our room was near the elevators & not far from the laundry facilities & it had no view (since we chose a city view room, we really didn't expect much). We were suprised that the room had facilities for a longer stay than our two night visit(refrigerator, microwave, kitchen type sink etc.). The staff was very accomodating & it has a nice gift shop. Our son & his family stayed at the same hotel & had a more expensive room that was very nice. It had a separate bedroom, sitting room & kitchen that was well designed including a handsome bar & barstools . It would be very nice for a week's stay. There was no restaurant attached, but there was a place to grab a quick breakfast in front of the facility & lots of places to dine nearby. The beach & stores all required a short walk.

Good stay on a low budget. Ten minute walk to the beach. Easy access to a variety of shopping and dining options.

The hotel was of average quality, but we were led to believe that we were staying at the real Outrigger in Hawaii. We were never told that there are many Outriggers and that the Luana is just an average local hotel with the term "Outrigger" included as part of its name, and that it is several blocks from the beach and has only a partial view of the ocean.

This trip was for a visit with family and for fun. The hotel is close to the beach, nice park, and downtown Waikiki. Many places to eat at all price ranges. We especially liked the waterfront open air restaurant. We had rented a car and parking was $10 per night. The room was not carpeted but in Hawaii that is not a problem. Our view could have been better if we had not been on the first floor but it was OK. We had a big lanai which was a bonus. They had a continental breakfast with juice, coffee, and rolls (which were really good). The room was stocked with dishes, glassware, and silverware. Nice cupboards,counter, small fridge with ice cube compartment, but no microwave. A microwave would have really been nice. This was our third time to Oahu but our first in a hotel. Having a car I would say is a must. There are many places to go see at your leisure and nothing is very far away. A 3-4hr day trip can take you to the opposite side of the island. Just need to watch for the high traffic times and have a good map with you. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was good for the price (a block from Waikiki beach. But the beds in my daughter's room had bed bugs and they got bitten quite a bit after several nights so we had to change rooms. That is a big enough downside that I would probably not stay at this hotel again.

Location was nice right beside Fort De Russy Park,which gave you a peaceful area to look out at. The pool overlooks the park not surrounded by highrises like many others. Convenient location between Ala Moana shopping center and Waikiki Beach area. Close to the Beach Walk and many other stores and restaurants. Beds were comfortable, though it would have been nice if sheets had been changed every few days, being that floors tended to get a bit sandy and would end up with sand in bed.
