Sufficient Stay
We were on our honeymoon and coming back from another location so this was an extended stay in Hawaii for 3 days. We went around Waikiki and drove around the island. The location of the Hotel was great. The furniture has its wear and tear but overall it was a good stay for the price. We didn't want anything too fancy, just a place to rest our weary heads. The staff was friendly. The whole room needed an upgrade though. The restroom fixtures were worn out.

Put my family up here . . .
Had poor family coming to my wedding from out of town. Put them up in a suite here for not a lot of money. Suite was very cramped for four adults. Parking kind of cramped and expensive. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
For a longer stay, hire a local who will be "staying with you" to show ID when you pay for parking: $10/day kamaaina rate versus $20 for mainlanders.

Interesting Experience
This was an interesting experience because upon check in, the motel had no record of my reservation, nor pre-payment. Almost like I didn't exist, actually, it was like I didn't exist. I had to prove to the motel that I had prepaid for the room through [...]. This was done by getting online to show the motel the prepayment to [...], and then showing them my credit card transaction. I was petrified. I was sure they would turn me away, or make me pay again. What a hassle. Everything worked out okay. I got the room, and did not have to pay again. [...]

Nice for the price
My boys were meeting there brother who was returning from deployment on the USS Carl Vinson. They reported that the room was very clean and the beds plenty big enough for them to share. It was a great location to surrounding night life and restaurants. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful in figuring out local transportation. They said the bathroom was very small (but they're not picky) and the pool was a bit of a joke. It was great for a family of young adults and a teenager. So if its a quick turnaround trip, this place was good. for longer stays, my wife and I prefer the North Shore which is much more laid back. You can usually find good deals at Kuilima Estates at Turtle Bay.

Nice for a short stay
The location good, it is close to the shops and not too far from the beach. The room was small but not bad for a short stay.

First time in HI!
We were in our room only to sleep and eat, since we got the kitchennette room, which was helpful to save some money. Sometimes they forgot to replace our cofee and sugar packets and I did find one big bed bug crawling on the bed spread that I killed, cause my lil daughter was freaking out. =)I also, didn't like thier shampoo/conditioner, it was not leathering and only tangled my hair. I ended up using my own shampoo and suggest u do the same! Otherwise, location was great and we walked to couple of beaches and the Honolulu Zoo, everything is very close, I liked riding the trolley. Most fun we had was swimming in the blue clear warm ocean and we were really sad to leave!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
I strongly suggest to try some local seafood, it's very tasty! Try the restoraunt on the beach at Outrigger hotel (I think that was the name of it, but it's the same hotel family)but it's spendy, so if you're on budget I wouldn't recommend dining out every day. =)

Waikiki Ohana West
Hotel is fair for the price. Old but functioning. The provided internet service was VERY slow in the room. Parking was expensive ($20 per night) Ice machines on the even floors only. SLOW elevators

Market is right next to the hotel. Not the best price, but better then others. Stop by before your outings to get your snacks and drinks before your trips.

I enjoyed my stay.
First the picture you have is of Ohana East not West the sister hotel and I have stayed there as well. At the West I was by myself. I had a small room but it fit me perfectly. The shower is to fit one person but the water pressure was great and the water was hot if I wanted. I found nothing wrong with this hotel. I will definitely stay here again. There is a Chili’s down stairs and a Cowboy night club. The Cabanas bar at the pool was fun and everyone was friendly. I'm 59 and enjoyed myself. The Market place is across the street. You are one block from the beachfront hotels. I walked straight through the market place and across the next street and I’m at Duke’s in the outrigger. If you want to save money stay here. Otherwise the outrigger is a great place for 190.00 a night and up.
