Close to the beach.

It was in a great location (around a 10 min walk to the beach). Parking was $18 a day! Large hot tub!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There are a few rental car places within walking distance from the hotel. Maybe you could check the rates of just renting a car for the day, the days you need one to avoid paying the hotel parking.

Okay for price paid

It was nice when I first walked into the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and there was free wi-fi in the lobby. The pool and jacuzzi were on the 5th floor; the jacuzzi was my favorite part! However, the hotel room wasn't all that great. The room smelled really bad. The carpet was done poorly and the curtain was broken. I couldn't get myself to sleep under the bed covers. The pillow covers were also dirty. I ended up sleeping on top of the bed covers and slept with a jacket over the pillow. They don't change towels until the 4th day, but would if requested. The bathtub was not nice: there were yellow stains. The water took a bit to drain, so I had to stand in the water the whole time I showered. It only drained about 3-4 minutes after I stepped out of the shower. Overall, the experience was good for what it's worth; situations could have been alot worse.

No frills, but good hotel

Okay...well, this hotel was totally no frills, but for the price it was worth it. The room was clean, but beware they have a new "go-green" policy so they change towels and sheets and vacuum every three days unless you request them to do these things. The room was small and the bed wasnt the comfiest ever, but hey it was cheap and so it did the trick. definitely not a 4 start hotel, but it was okay

Worth The Stay for Bucks Paid

Have stayed in this hotel two times before this. Overall experience is fine. Nothing fancy - but a quiet and restful place to stay. Worth the money i paid for each time. The elevators appear to be better now - no long waits and works very well! In their "effort to stay green", towels are not changed daily - you have to go down to the 2nd Floor and ask for replacements. Sundries are also replenish AFTER 3 days so if you run out, make sure you ask for them (from the Service Area, 2nd Floor). If you don't want to bother asking - then bring your own! For all the times i stayed in this hotel, i find the rooms clean (but do not expect luxury). Bathroom is clean. They also charged daily for the use of their room safe ($3.75 day as of 06/03/09). Hotel is a few blocks from the beach. Convenient stores (ABCs and General Whaler) are close and dining options are aplenty along Kuhio. Convenient to bus stops. I opted to rent a car for 2 days and 1 night that was enough to get me around the island. Otherwise, staying in Waikiki - there is no need for a car, really if you like walking. Alternative is to take bus or the Trolley. Parking is within the same building but is separately managed (but can also opt to charge to your hotel room). $18.00 per day with in and out privileges. I have stayed in some Waikiki properties that parking is in a completely separate building! Would i stay a 3rd time... I WILL.... Again, this hotel is reasonable BUT not fancy! Come with an open mind.

perfect location and at a good expense

well this was my first time visiting hawaii. and i have got to say it is a beautiful place. it is a bit pricey to shop and dine. the hotel had a good little bar on the fifth floor. good prices. the only bad thing about the hotel was you had to pay for parking. 18.00 a day. and the internet was 11.00 a day as well. so that was the down side. but i stayed on the 44th floor facing waikiki beach and i loved the veiw in the day and evening. the room was small but doable. half the time i was out walking around.

good room for a good price

First trip to Hawaii and it was a great one. Hotel was nice and only a few minutes from the beach. We rented a car and drove around the island but you really only need a car for one day. You pay about 18 dollars a day to park at the hotel. For various excursions there are hotel pick-ups so cars are not as necessary. I'd recommend bringing your own shampoo. There was guest laundry. pool, jacuzzi, bar. Pretty nice overall.

This hotel needs to support free parking permit for its hotel guests who stay overnight. This policy will certainly make the stay more enjoyable and economic for travelers.
