great service but not cheap

Perfect location for shopping and dinning out and very best service (friendly staff, towel and beach services are plus). However the hotel charges for everything such as breakfast, internet, and really expensive parking fee. And the hotel seems to be very old but well maintained.

Nice to get away

We really did not have much time to spend in the hotel room. We were there because my daughter was the student chairperson in charge of the Mililani High School prom which took place in the Hyatt Regency ball room. It was one of the biggest events (over 700 attended the prom)held in the ball room and the manager (Destiny Holland) and banquet worker were fantastic...very organized and so helpful in every way.

Convenient for shopping.

Good Service, however, not sure if parking fee is required or not. Two stays, one is requested to pay parking fee $30/day, another day is free.

We look forward to going back next year

It is a very nice hotel. Centrally located, very close to the beach and shops and restaurants. Rooms are a little dated ( as is the case for most Hawaiian Hotels), service was good and the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. We skipped renting a car which worked out nicely. Take a cab but if you plan to rent a car for a day trip, make reservations ahead of time from one of the two car rental companies on the premises.

Go for it!

The Hyatt Waikiki Beach lived up to my expectation of the Hawaiian Hyatts having stayed in two others on the islands of Kauai and Maui. The attention to create the feeling of a tropical environment is always evident with this chain with its lush plants, waterfalls and tropical birds making one really feel the 'aloha' of Hawaii. The staff is friendly and very helpful; the lovely rooms, large and newly renovated; the proximity to the beach, directly across the street with a totally unobstructed view of the beautiful blue ocean; the shops, convenience to the main area of Waikiki Beach....Everything was wonderful! We spent 12 memorable days at this hotel and found it to be just what we hoped it would be. My feeling for the Hyatt hotels was reinforced once again. One point of information: the Terrace Lounge (the breakfast /lunch venue) is undergoing complete renovation which began the first Monday in January and is expected to take 3 to 4 months. The other restaurant on that level is being used for those meals as well as its normal dinner (excellent!) fare. The renovation did not cause any inconvenience; just some temporary closed sections are apparent. I like Hyatt because it seems to always put money back into itself to maintain and improve its accommodations. Definitely a plus about any business! I highly recommend this hotel. (if you haven't already guessed that!)

Hyatt Regency Waikiki

Hotel is classy and clean. Didn't realize work was being done in public areas. Room was quite dingy and ordinary for 4* hotel. Saving grace was being upgraded to Diamondhead Tower ocean view room. Definite high spot was a.m. coffee on the lanai and gorgeous sunsets without being blocked by a beachside hotel. I would stay here again if I was sure I'd be in DH Tower.

Fantastic Getaway

Upon arrival, the Hyatt Regency did not have our reservation...they had said that it was due to our reservations with [...] and not directly through the Hyatt Regency. We asked to speak to a manager and provided her with our [...] reservation printout. She assured us that it would be taken care of and it was. They were very kind and honored what was reserved through [...].The Hyatt Regency is located directly across the street from Waikiki Beach and the sunsets from the pool deck area were fantastic. All hotel staff, whether at the front desk, bar, restaurant and poolside were extremely kind. Poolside drinks and food were also fantastic and inexpensive. The service was very fast as we received drinks immediately after ordering and food soon after. The daily live entertainment poolside was incredible. The hotel also left a daily schedule of events at the hotel and at Waikiki Beach in our room. This was our second time vacationing in Honolulu and our overall experience was wonderful and we would definitely return to the Hyatt Regency on our next trip to Honolulu.

Excellent location

The hotel and its staff were lovely, its an excellent location in the heart of the city, the beach, the shops and the cafes/restaurants. The price we got through this site was very good compared to other sites. The hotel is very big, with interesting decor like the huge fountain in the middle, the rooms were ok, its not the newest hotel but they were taken care of well for the age of the hotel. The one thing i dislike about any hotel is the shower/bath tub in one. And this was the case with the Hyatt. But overall its was very nice, yummy food at the buffet (breakfast) and very nice helpfull staff.
