Hidden gem
We travel to Hawaii a lot and have stayed at many different hotels. However, after this last visit, we will be returning to hotel renew. Its a small hotel, the rooms are quiet, but they are bigger than some of the large chain hotels. Don't get too excited, the rooms aren't huge; this is still Waikiki after all, space is limited. But, there was room for a king bed, a large desk, an armchair, and still room to walk around. There is free continental breakfast in the morning, which was wonderful, especially because most hotels in the area nickel and dime you for everything. The location is just off Kalakaua (i.e., the main drag), so you are not right on the beach (but you are literally half a block away). This also means that you should not be expecting a great view, but you should expect that the rooms will be quiet. This is a great boutique hotel that I would recommend to anyone coming to visit!

Great Location, Great Price
The Hotel Renew is very newly remodeled, and it shows. It is very clean, very trendy, and an all around great place to stay. The staff was very friendly. The wash cloth and juice at check in was a nice touch. Free Wi-Fi is also very nice. Also, being a smaller hotel, there is more attention given to each guest. The free continental breakfast was very good, which is a treat as they are hard to find on Waikiki Beach. There was toasts, yogurt, muffins, croissants, fresh fruits as well as fresh pineapple juice, coffee and tea.

Great stay!
I was in Hawaii for the first time to go to a wedding, yes very original. There was no parking around and although $22 a day, the valet parking was curb side service from the front desk. The rooms was clean, modern, and I got a balcony with a view of the ocean. The room had a flat screen t.v. for the ball game, a fridge for the beers, and was a block from the beach. I had a great stay.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Surfing lessons from the PVT surfing school. It was fun the day before the wedding to laugh at the bride and fall into the ocean.

loved it!
when we first looked at the hotels online here i wasn't too sure just because alot of reviews had said the hotels were "remodeled" but still looked really old inside with insects. But this was the hotel i trusted the most. right when we arrived to the hotel and got inside, i was in HEAVEN!! it was love at first sight. Hotel Renew was so modern and beautiful inside. and very elegant. The only bad thing i have to say about it is that the rooms were a little snug and the hotel was right next to a sketchy alley way. but it didn't really matter since all i worried was having a nice room to sleep in and feel comfortable in and easy access to the beach, and i got it all =)

What a nice surprise!
We spent 5 nights at Hotel Renew in July. We were surprised by what a great value it was. The interior of the hotel is new and modern. We love the double-double rooms. Spacious and newly remodeled, with a huge flat screen TV. The one-double-bed room is a lot smaller than the double-double room. Free continental breakfast is as good as continental breakfast gets. Fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and good selections of pastry. The location is great. A short walk to the beach and the bus stops. What impressed us the most is their service. It is better than some of the 4-star and 5-star hotels we have stayed at in the past. Upon our arrival, the frontdesk served everyone with Pineapple juice and hand towels. Every staff was happy and helpful. The only thing missing is a swimming pool. But who needs it when right next to the beautiful, calm ocean. We will definitely come back to Hotel Renew when we come to Waikiki. I hope the price doesn't go up when we go back the next time.

Best Hotel Experience in Years
Completely top-notch in every way. This is the last of our 5 nights here, and this has been one of the best vacation hotel experience we have ever had. When you factor in the excellent price, it's the best. Here are the ways it has been awesome: Very chic, contemporary rooms with plenty of space. Bathrooms are very nice with actual shower doors and plenty of space. Bed is very comfortable. Plenty of pillows. Housekeeping very thorough and efficient-- they even came up at 7pm to clean sand I had tracked in because I requested it. We parked our rental car the whole time--the hotel guys were SUPER FAST in getting our car out every time and we went in/out 2-3 times a day. I know the staff is in the hospitality business, and it is their job to be nice, but the Hotel Renew staff went above and beyond! They were incredibly welcoming, learned our name very quickly, and very sincere. Every time we walked out through the lobby they were attentive and offered us towels for the beach, and they were happy to provide advice on any questions we had. The owner of this hotel should be proud to have such a quality staff and good management. Every single employee on of the 7 or 8 employees I interacted with was helpful, warm, courteous, and efficient. I don't know what else to say except that you will not be sorry if you stay here. The only thing that some people might not like is that it is a small boutique hotel (72 rooms they told me), and therefore it does not have resort-type services or amenities, such as massage, pool, gym, etc. But you are in freaking Hawaii!! You should be climbing Diamond Head, taking surf lessons, or snorkeling!! You can always go grab piña colada at the Moana Surfrider if you want a taste of the fancy resort experience. Good luck!

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Parking lot along Monsarrat Ave is free with no time limits. Since it's only a few minute's walk to Hotel Renew, we saved a lot of money by not paying for parking at all during our 12-day trip.
