Just nasty
Luckily we only had to stay here one night. Again we had problems getting a good room, they put us in a "wheel chair" acccessible room and the bathroom was just terrible. The thermostat didn't work correctly and the air conditioning would never shut off....it got down to 58F in the middle of the night and we had to get up to turn it off, only to wake up sweltering. Dirty dirty beds, terrible pillows, IT WAS NOT RENOVATED [...] Anyway, we decided to try breakfast there, and it was absolutely disgusting. Scrambled eggs were like rubber, and pancakes were hard as rocks. How do you mess up these simple food items??? Well thankfully it was only one night...we enjoyed the rest of our time at the Royal Hawaiian.

Need to improve their service
We find blood stain on the toilet, hair on the floor and food stain on the table when we check in our room. After 3:30 p.m. still have no body come to clean our room . Most of the time they don't replace the soap and towel in our bathroom. Some the frontdesk staff are not so helpfull, some of the are helpfull.

Better for Business Travellers ...
Random comments in no particular order: 1. If you are looking for a real "resort"/ Hawaii feel (or going on honeymoon), DO NOT stay at this hotel. I think its better suited for business travellers. 2. The hotel golf course is 40 mins away (not on the hotel property) 3. While the Ala Moana Mall is a short walk away, who wants to go to the Mall in Waikiki? (do that at home!) 4. The hotel is on the Marina, however, there are 2 public beaches within 5 - 10 mins walk. 5. I would not consider this a 4 star hotel ... unless by "4 Star" they mean 3 star :)

Hawaii hotel nihtmare
The hotel stay ruined my vacation. I thought I was visiting paradise. The linens in the spa area was dirty and used. Needs to be updated immediately The room smelled and the carpet was disgusting. The bed linens are ugly and needs to be replaced immediately. The room service breakfast was horrible. How could anyone mess up scrambled eggs. The pool area was very small and the hot tub/whirlpool was dirty. The pictures on line must have been taken some where else, the hotel looks nothing like the advertisement. The guest needs to be advised that the golf club is located off the premises and should not be advertised like its in the same location as the hotel.

A Courtyard in Hawaii, yikes!
This hotel has great promise. Soon they will begin a major renovation and the minor flaws they have will go away. They are on the ocean and only 5 miles or so from the airport. The rooms are a little dated, but the scheduled renewal will fix their short comings. I would recommend this place, but you may want to wait until the remodel is over. The location, while not in the major resort area, is excellent. Great value if the prices stay about the same as they are today.

It's damp and needs some up dates.
This hotel was great for my purpose in Oahu. Business and pleasure combined but it felt damp and there wasn't a decent breakfast to be had any where close. The buffet was over priced and lacking.

Not as good as expected
Our room was not really oceanfront and we heard the noise from the street. Rooms furniture is a bit out of date, though the bathroom was very spacious. The first day, the room was smelly, not particularly clean, and was missing coffee and soap in the bathroom. However, they let us use the fitness room on the check-out day so we could enjoy the beach till late.

quiet
The location was not "bad" but was not particularly "good". It was quite a long walk to the beach, food, and shopping. However, it was quiet. I would recommend this hotel, although it is not in the more popular area of Waikiki. Desk staff was not friendly. Gift shop and small lounge staff was friendly.

Short drive from hotel
The Go Oahu card was not a smart purchase for me. There were only a few times/places I could use it. The cost for two days = ??? around 75.00. x Also, I had to get a reservation for a shuttle bus to take me to pick up the card at another location...took up a lot of time. It would have been more convenient and economical had I purchased a ticket at each activity/event.

Great view; Decent for business traveler
I stayed at this hotel for one night for business. I travel every couple weeks for business and usually stay at a Doubletree or Hilton. The Hawaii Prince was clean, had efficient check-in, and friendly staff. I was disappointed there was no free internet access to print my boarding pass. Rooms were clean; great view; not too noisy b/c my room was high enough up to not hear the street noise.
