A old castle that is a great place to stay
This is a great place to sleep, as it is clean, and the staff is kind and courteous. The room is old and in need of minor maintenance. BUT what a great place to stay so I can spend my money on good places to eat and shop. Centrally located, nice pool, helpful staff. But do not use the restaurant, a waste of money there!! But they know this and they are under a long term lease, but you are in Waikiki and there are GREAT places to eat nearby.

Horrible!
We knew it was budget hotel, but it was beyond our expectations. Definitely not in the good way. We were in a 2 Bedroom suite. Size was ok, but the maintenance was terrible. One of the bedrooms has a lamp with broken base (a huge crack across) and it was glued together. You can clearly see the the glue mark. Kitchen was very tiny. No toaster, no paper napkins, no bowls, hardly any utensils (a spatula and a big spoon). 4 dinner plates, 4 cups, 4 glasses and 4 dessert plates that's all for a 2 bedroom suite. Kitchen counter (which was may be 2 feet wide between stove and sink had 3 patches and many many rusted nails. They didn't refill on coffee and sugar even once during our 4 days stay. How can 5 people drink coffee for 4 days with one pack? Neither bathroom nor kitchen had an exhaust fan. They left a note that towels and linen will be replaced every 4 days, but after our first use, they folded all the used hand and towels and arranged them in the bathroom. I don't know about others, but I dont want to mix up towels that everybody used. There were some hand towels that we droped on the floor (which was nasty) by accident which we kept separate, that were all mixed up. Shower and sink were so darn tiny. If I was heavy I would have bumped into the walls while taking shower. Wait for the best part. On the day we were to checkout, water didn't drain in the shower when the first person took shower. We called the front desk and she said she would send someone to fix it. I repeatedly asked would she send somebody right away, she said "YEAH" in a strong tone. Nobody came. We all had to take shower standing in that stagnant water and I even had to bathe my baby in there holding her up. Then at 11.45am she calls us to remind that we have to checkout at noon. When I asked her why they didn't send anyone to fix it, she says I paged him, he might be in a meeting, I did my job, if he didn't come, its not her problem. It is in prime location, so I can see why they still can do business even with such horrible rooms and service, but I would never go back there and wont recommend anyone to stay.

It has a reasonably good location, near a bus stop, accessible to major attractions. Having a kitchen set is convenient for those who wants to fix a quick breakfast. The room itself is a bit small.

It was all right
We came to Honolulu for a job interview. The hotel was OK,located convenient, close to everything. The stuff is friendly, nice, helpful. The only problem we had: the people in the next room.We couldn't sleep 2 nights because of the noise.Other than that,we did enjoy our stay and my husband got the job. So,we are moving to Hawaii soon.

The hotel room was old and dirty and housekeeping didn't clean everyday. But the worst thing was that housekeeping kept short-sheeting our beds. We had to remake them every night. Anything we asked for (coffee, towels, pillows, etc.) we were told we had to go to the front desk to get and then they didn't have it. There was a list of items that they could charge for if they were missing from our rooms (towels cost $25.00) OMG!!

You must try Lulu's Bar & Restaurant. They had the best food, drinks, and happy hour and, because of they're location, you could actually see the ocean.

It was alright
It was allright. Nothing more than a place to rest your head. The only reason why I didnt give it a lower rating is that the location is prime.

Waikiki budget vacation
Initially disappointing when viewed the room, placed on a smoking floor - didn't know they had those anymore! This hotel is budget friendly, but a little on the shabby side. I originally booked it because there was a kitchenette. However without a car, there is no close grocery store. However there are inexpensive options for eating out. Front desk staff was absolutely marvelous from the get go.

unbeatable location for the price
First the parking was very narrow and no turn around area; it was also limited to first come-first served, but it was only $20/day so better than hunting parking in Waikiki. Then there was a problem with the door entry cards and you were allowed only one card per room....very inconvenient. The bathroom was very small....so only one person at a time.On request for a wine opener, we had to immediately run it back to the desk because they only had one. There basically was no room service for anything. The bathroom to the pool area was disgusting and smelled like urine and was unisex...that was not a good thing and I wouldn't have allowed my children to use it if I had any...The in-house restaurant looked nasty so we didn't attempt to try it. It was okay at the advertised price but not at the normal price..2 stars
