Best Western The Plaza Hotel

Nice large room, immaculate, love it that the whole hotel has now gone smoke free. We always stay here on our way through Honolulu, very close to airport, has shuttle. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful

I just wanted to start off by saying that even I with my five ratings in some of the places, I underrated this hotel. I don't think the categories it asks you to rate really sum up the whole experience this hotel can offer you. First of all, one of the driving factors of booking this place for me was it's proximity to the airport. Just that factor alone is worth it's low room price if you have an early morning departure from Honolulu. But it doesn't stop there - they offer a complimentary shuttle ride to and from the airport. There are even phones that you can use to call the Best Western for free from the Baggage Claim in the airport to get a shuttle. The staff is one of the nicest I've run into. Not only did they do the jobs that they were supposed to do, but went out of their way to go above what I think was the minimum which their job entailed. I went swimming at Waikiki beach, and I was alone and didn't want my phone to get stolen, so I wrapped it in plastic and took it swimming with me. Even though my phone was in the plastic, it didn't like the water as much as I did, and the phone completely died. I had to call my family and tell them about it in case they tried to call me, and the lady at the front desk let me use the front desk phone to call them and tell them how to call my room phone. Seems stupid of me I know, but it's things like this that let you see just how great (or terrible) the staff at these places are. Plus, I mean, it has all the expected amenities like free wifi, comfy beds, and a swimming pool. They even have a full restaurant that serves great food - but you have to pay - and the breakfast is not complimentary either. Also its a Best Western, so if you're loyal to them then there are perks which come with that, so if you are, then this Best Western is definitely one of the ones that make that pay off. Lastly, I'm going to say this. This is a bargain hotel that is in Honolulu, Hawaii. When you have places in that town that charge huge rates for their rooms just because of the location, its nice that you can find a lower price hotel that is next to the airport and right in the middle of most of the things you'd want to do in Honolulu as a tourist. Pearl Harbor is about the same distance from the Best Western as the Waikiki area. So if you're taking a trip to Honolulu, for a nightly layover, a weekend excursion, or a two-and-a-half week long vacation, then really consider this hotel. Its not lacking in quality, yet the price is incredibly reasonable compared to other places, so you'll be able to enjoy more of your time here with the money you saved. I paid a good sum of money to stay at this hotel, I expected to have a nice room. When I checked into the hotel I was given a room on the side of the hotel. This area looked like the slums, I dragged my bags a great distance to get to where my room should have been. I could not locate my room because there was no numbers on the doors. I then dragged my bags back to the main desk asked the clerk for a room in the hotel, she said "The Tower is booked" She then gave me a room back in the slums, and this room had a number on the door. What a nightmare it was. When myself or other guest pay for a room in a nice hotel that is what we expect. If I pay peanuts for a room I would expect this room to be in the zoo, when I pay good money for a room I expect a nice room.

It was convenient to the down town from the hotel. No bother and Room was clearence.

Received the same hospitality even years after our last stay, been here 4 times before and will continue to do business here again. The location is so perfect and central to almost every part of Oahu.

Was there for business, Ease access to the freeway.

I travel often and usually have a layover in Honolulu,since I need to leave very early the next morning I want to be close to the Airport. I chose this hotel because it claimed a resturant open for breakfast through dinner & a Bar/ Lounge. It forgot to mention that they were only open certain days, and not while I was there. While they did offer to shuttle guests to a resturant somewhere else, and they do have 24 hour Airport shuttle I will not stay here again.

The location and price was fine. SInce spent most of time working, did not spend much time at the hotel, just eating and sleeping Missed breakfast buffet since do not eat heavy (eggs and stuff) for breakfast.

Since was working nearby, the location was great, especially for working morning traffic on Nimitz Hwy

Although the beds were OK the bathroom was in very poor shape and looked like it suffered from humidity issues. A turn off when ever you needed to go in there.
