Wonderful location, great price

Great no frills hotel for those who don't want to spend a lot of time in your room. The beach is across the street. The hotel will lend you towels and beach toys. Very friendly and helpful staff. I suggest parking at the Banyan hotel. It's a few blocks away but has more parking spots, it less money, and easier access. The rooms are small, but we spent very little time there. Our room had a small fridge, hair dryer, and a safe (small daily charge for safe). The location and price of this hotel far outweigh any negatives.

Good hotel for Price

This hotel did exactly what I needed it to do. It was a great location in Waikiki, and it provided the necessary things found in a hotel room: beds, bathroom and a television!

Super Style! Best Location and Price!

I wanted a hotel close to the beach, in the heart of Waikiki and not a mega resort. I didn't need a swimming pool (the beach is across the street), or hotel restaurants (restaurants are everywhere in Waikiki), or a spa. I didn't even need a view, but all the rooms have some view. Plus it has style. I love the architecture, it is designed to use the space super efficiently, but very stylish. Bigger decks and windows than the Marriot. The only sacrifice is a small shower stall without a tub. It has everything I need and almost nothing that I don't need, except it has a flat screen TV, which I don't need on vacation. It is an older building but very well kept up. Stay at the best location, in style, and save money!

Take a surfing lesson from Star Beach Boys on the beach right across the street from the hotel. It's a blast and they make sure everyone catches a wave!

Very Happy

Yes, the hotel is "worn." The rooms were clean, the hotel's design is so unique and fun, my balcony actually faced the hotel behind us, but I had a perfect view of the beach towards Diamond Head once you turned the chairs. Magnificent! Waikiki is noisy period, I don't know if you can stay anywhere along that avenue where you wouldn't hear traffic noise. Would most definitely stay here again!!! Tip- if you have a late night or red-eye flight, inquire with the front desk about a 1/2 day rate.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Get a bus schedule from the visitors center. You can get anywhere on the island on the bus instead of renting a car. Plus, you can get great meals at the farmer's markets, to save money on dining. There are some great little restaurants and sandwich shops along Kuhio Avenue.

Great Great Great!!

This hotel was in a perfect location, right across from the beach and in the HEART of the shopping area of Waikiki. Many restaurants are close by and those ABC convenience stores are on every corner that have just about everything you need from toiletries to food and gifts. The room was just perfect for my husband and I. Yes, the bathroom is small, but big deal! We were hardly there anyway. We had an ocean front view and requested 8th floor and above. They granted my request by giving us a 9th floor room with an outstanding view. The room was very clean and the A/C worked great. Car rental places, bus system, and mopeds are very close by. We used all three while there. Most of the staff members were quite friendly. We didn't leave until 7:30 pm our last evening in Hawaii, but they allowed us to keep our bags stored free of charge which was a great convenience for us.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Make sure you check out Hula Grill for beachside breakfast, a short 5 minute walk from the hotel. Also, Duke's has great atmosphere at night for dinner. Enjoy!
