The location was great and we did have a partial view of the beach, although the lani was only big enough to stand on. The ... rooms had new carpets and the beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping was very accommodating. The bathroom was very worn - the door was broken on the bottom and had been painted over to cover-up the damage. There were no hooks or lines to hang up wet bathing suits. The floor tiles were old and dirty. Not much counter space. The breakfast buffet was a mad house -- people horded food into the little coolers provided by the hotel. The buffet is only available from 6:30-8:30, probably because they can't afford to stock it for a longer period of time.

Great location, great view, comfy bed
Gloria Nov 30, 2009
Loved the location, we upgraded to an ocean front room, the view was wonderful - definitely recommend the upgrade. Elevators ... worked fine 90% of the time - a little slow on our last day because one of them got stuck somewhere. The bed was very comfortable, air conditioning worked great but it shuts off when the sliding door is open. We asked for a high floor so we wouldn't hear the music from the bar below, we were on the 18th floor and with the door closed couldn't hear a thing. If you like pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit for breakfast then get the included breakfast, we prefer a hot breakfast so it was kind of a waste of money for us. Lulu's next door has great food and isn't too expensive. Tiki's Bar and Grill in the hotel is also very good but costs more. Loved our room and location (walking distance to almost everyting) - definitely would stay there again.

Lulu's - good food, reasonably priced. Cheeseburger place - short walk, good food, inexpensive. Subway, Wolfgang Puck's (fast food), cookie place, ice cream place - all on same block.

Hotel
Hawaii 09 Nov 30, 2009
Hotel was nice, however they seemed to charge for everything! I've never stayed at a hotel where you had to pay for use of ... the in-room safe extra everyday. Most hotels usually include it in the cost of the room. Also, would have liked a coffee pot in the room instead of going downstairs everyday for coffee. Was pretty crowded and lots of families were down there at that time. Valet parking was also expensive. $27.00 a day plus 1. 27 tax each day. Also, housekeeping skipped cleaning our room the 3rd day we were there. Other than that, the hotel was nice.

Skip the local tourist haunts for shopping for souvenirs and go to the nearest Walmart! Walmart has a souvenir section and the prices are very reasonable. You can find t-shirts, calendars, jewelry, magnets, keychains and a host of other souvenir items without breaking your budget.

First time to Honolulu and it was great. We knew the rooms were small, but they were nicely decorated and clean. We ... upgraded to a ocean view when we arrived. Housekeeping failed to pay attention and replace the toilet paper & tissues which we had to go get ourselves. The valet service was also extremely helpful. The location is Fabulous! A nice hotel but noisy
Pat Nov 19, 2009
The hotel is at the south end of the strip. It is nice to walk both directions. The shops are one way and the park, homes and ... then ths cliffs the other. The bar at night is very loud and kept us up sometimes until 4AM. That was a major problem. I think most rooms would be affected by the noise especially pool side.

Oceanview depends on where you are in the hotel. They claim that Oceanview applies to all floors above the 15th, even if you ... are looking at the hotel across the street and have to lean way over the balcony to even see part of the ocean. As for the complimentary breakfast, could have had more choices and better fruit! The Tiki Lounge offered some of the best pupus, meals and drink specials of all the restaurant/bars on the strip. Good prices and great music!!!

The Breakfast on The Beach was Good. Served 6:30-8:30. Coffee available at 6:00 Saved money every day. We took extra and put it in the refrigerator for when we had an early excursion or were just to lazy to get out of bed! Lots of variety, danish, fruit, cereal, milk, coffee, juice, yogurt. For a fee there was one hot option like French toast or waffles. Lines can get long early but they move pretty fast. If a station is crowded, just move to another. I wish they would have whole fruit offered like apples, bananas or oranges so you could take them with you and enjoy them during the day.

Take advantage of their free Breakfast on the Beach. My girlfriend and I saved so much money on food by filling up at breakfast and stocking up on cereal, fruit, and yogurt to snack on throughout the day (the rooms comes with little refrigerators to store the perishable things). Because of this we ate less throughout the day and shared meals instead of buying two separate meals. The hotel gives you little coolers that are great for taking breakfast to the beach!!
