Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel

The mandatory day charge of $10 that is being raised to $18 a day is ridiculous. It's for internet you can not even use in your room and the option to watch dvds you rent from the lobby. Even if you dont use the internet or want to watch movies its still a mandatory charge. not cool. Also they jab you with a $25 charge to use the basic soaps and shampoos in room. With a tiny little statement that is barely visible they state the charges. I understand a charge for nice soaps, etc but they dont give you an option in the room. Also if you do not return your plastic key cards when you check out they charge you yet again. Lots of bogus unnecessary charges that really bum out your stay. Other than that the location is great.

Location is Great , next to Zoo , alows you to park at either zoo $1 per hour, or At metered spots $.50 per hour (free at night, till 10am), So if you are willing to walk a block, which is easy with Hawaii weather, you can keep parking costs low (hotel parking is $27 per day, Valet only) I did the car shuffle and managed to spend about $19 over my entire 5 day stay. Hotel was nice, retaurant the TIKI hut is great but $$$ . Try Teddy's burgers around the corner for a great burger or Rainbow drive in about 2.5 miles up Kapahulu for more local food. If you are on a budget food wise, there is a SUBWAY , If your a clean freak the tile in bathroom was a little dirty but to me it looked more like stains in grout overall room was fairly clean . Hotel like ALL hotels on Waikiki is an older hotel that has been remodeled my guess is about 4 or 5 years ago so its still fairly fresh. Make sure to buy water shoes before going in Ocean the coral reefs that make the water clear can cut your feet($12-$15 at ABC store#, #a cut foot can ruin your vacation )

Only there for 5 days and important detail while booking hotel was pool area. Wanted to rest and relax by pool as much as possible. First day went to pool area noticed how dangerous and slippery it was because the cement surrounding outside of pool had been painted and very slippery. I was in pool and came out and walking very slowly because so slippery from painted cement but still fell on my bad knee and injured myself. Then if that weren't bad enough, the last 2 days out of our trip the pool was closed and I couldn't go to beach with wound on knee (didn't want sand to get in it) and was looking forward to going in pool but couldn't because closed for maintenance. Hotel only gave $75 credit for pool closure when hotel itself cost over $1,000.

I stayed there and I though the hotel was very nice and comfortable, the staff was very helpful and we really enjoyed the stay, and it was very clean, I would definitly go back, the price was very reasonalby

we send out parent to hawaii trip and they loved that place,,, they didnt speak english that good, but everything went good,,, they loved the place,,, free breakfast and all that,,,, hotel is great for its price,,,,

Our stay at the Aston Waikiki was incredible. The staff was super friendly and helped us find literally everything we were looking for. The beach was right across the street and there are several restaurants and a bar just right downstairs adjacent to the lobby. Definitely staying again next time I'm in town.

Only problem I had with the hotel was NO FAN in bathroom. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. View was fantastic. Rooms are comfy and clean. 27 US dollars a day for parking is expensive. If I had it to do over again I would not rent a car. I used it to drive to and from the airport. I wasted $160 for the parking fees and the money it cost me to rent the car. Everything in Wakiki is within walking distance i.e. food, shops, buses and tours supply rides to and from. FOOD HULA grill was our favorite, Top of Wakikii has great happy hour.

Before booking the Aston Hotel in Honolulu I took the virtual tour on the internet and our hotel room looked exactly as it was displayed on the internet. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the ocean view was everything we asked for. I can't say enough nice things about the hotel staff. Every request we asked for was completed in a friendly fast service. For example the hair dryer did not work and I called the front desk and in 5 minutes I had a brand new hair dryer to use. The location was convenient to all attractions so that you could hop on a shuttle or you could walk to many attractions. I would stay there again!!!

The room was the perfect size for 2 of us. Very clean and brightly decorated. The hotel is located right across the street from the beach. The views are breathtaking. My favorite part of this hotel was the restaurant/bar- "TIKI"! The atmosphere set the mood for my entire trip. The food, drink specials and entertainment are amazing. It was actually my favorite place to hang out while on my trip, besides the breakfast at the beach option the hotel gives you by supplying each room with a traveling cooler.

A singer and a hula dancer entertains by the pool for the free breakfast. There was no meat, just cereals, milk, yogurt, muffins, donuts, fruits, and miso. Crowded on weekends, great on other days. Go early to get enough food. Beautiful oceanview, would've tried the oceanfront for the extra $30/night if it wasn't full. Quite far, 10mins walk to center of waikiki, but really worth it for the price. Comfy bed, comfy room, friendly concierge. Overall, loved the experience. Not a 5 star quality, but really great experience and worth the price.
