Blending trendy design with authentic Polynesian touches and top-of-the-line amenities, the Aqua brand is a modern answer to the traditional Hawaiian experience. First founded in 2001, Aqua Hotels & Resorts is now home to more than 15 one-of-a-kind properties on four Hawaiian Islands, including the smaller islands of Lanai and Molokai, and an all-suite hotel in Guam. Like all Aqua properties, Honolulu's Aqua Palms Waikiki is a vibrant hotel with a uniquely Hawaiian feel and a contemporary sensibility. Start your day in paradise with a freshly brewed cup of Kona coffee - a local blend from the Big Island - while taking in beautiful views of Diamond Head, the Pacific Ocean or the tropical city landscape. After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the downstairs IHOP restaurant, head outside to explore the city, or schedule a rejuvenating in-room lomi lomi massage.

Devil and dishonesty are in the details

Great staff, helpful with a room change. Surprise charge of $80.00 for parking. Told because I had booked on-line. If paid for full room fee, would have had free parking. Eighty dollars is not a big deal if you know about it and agree in advanced. A rip-off is a rip-off. Paid fifty dollar premium for view of beach from 9th floor. Had to move to different room on 8th floor with view of street because some outlets and lan connection were dead. No refund.

Mediocre at best

My new husband and I spent 8 nights at the Aqua Palms, and lucky for us we like to walk and we didn't spend much time in the room. One morning they turned off the water from 5-7am, but since we had a planned excursion at 7, we didn't get to take showers prior to leaving. Another day we left our room at 730am- returned at 430pm and our room had not been touched. When I mentioned this to the cleaning person, she was apologetic, and offered us new towels. The hotel is located at the very end of the main "strip" so anytime we wanted to go out for food or entertainment, it always started with a 15-20 minute walk. We had an amazing time while in Hawaii and this had nothing to do with the Aqual Palms. If you don't mind a bare bones hotel experience, then you wouldn't mind staying here.

just so so, do not expect too much

Basically the staff are very friendly. But the check in time is forced to be 3pm. Also their computer system seems having bugs, we got a room where there had been people living, which made us go up and down 3 times when we were very exhausted. Also their key card always did not work when you came back from outside. We had to go to the lobby desk to enable our cards very often. Once we were at the garage gate and found our card not work, this put us in a very dangerous position because the slope to the gate is very abrupt and very short to slip into the main street.

Careful

The Hotel was average the problem was with the elevators, three total, 2 working. it took up to 20 minutes to get any where. The garage was tight if you had anything other than a compact plus $20 a day parking. The light in the bathroom wasn't conducive for doing anything in the mirror or the shower. The continental breakfast was very weak. Red apples and bananas was all the fruit,(yes no pineapple). Mini muffins, juice and coffee with powered creamer.

Good location unwanted roommates

Was there for a wedding. Enjoyed the location, it was newly renovated. The one issue was there were cockroaches in the room. They sprayed, but we found more just before we left. The room otherwise was clean.

Decent hotel

This is a great basic hotel. If you're looking for luxurious living, you should definitely go for the resorts or places like the Hilton Hawaiian Village across the street. But if you're just looking for a good, clean place to stay, the Aqua Palms and Spa is a good option. Some amenities included are: microwave and fridge/freezer in the room, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, hair dryer, personal safe, TV, free wired internet in the room, and free wi-fi in the hotel lobby (just get the connection information from reception). There is a tiny gym (it's just a small hotel room converted into a gym), and a very small pool (kind of disappointing, really - stick with the beach if you want to swim). There isn't any free breakfast, but you can get discounts in the nearby Wailea Coffee House and IHOP with your room card. Another thing to note is that the internet can get very slow here, especially when everyone's using it at night. The staff here is all very friendly, and it is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Waikiki and the Ala Moana Shopping Center.

Take the free Hilo Hattie shuttle, which stops directly in front of this hotel; it takes you to the Hilo Hattie store, and also to the Ala Moana Shopping Center on the way back. For other travel around the island, theBus is a great option. It is only $2.50 per person, and you can get a free transfer if you go on theBus again within 2 hrs (just save the ticket stub the driver hands you).

The room was ample for the price, and clean. Nice location - short walk to the beach. The staff was very accommodating. We have no complaints.

OK short stay

We were here only for a few days on a stop over to Kauai and for what we wanted it was OK for the price. A bit out dated but the staff makes up for a bit of this. If you want a place to bunk down for the night and have activities to keep you busy for the day it is OK.
