Blending trendy design with authentic Polynesian touches and top-of-the-line amenities, the Aqua brand is a modern answer to the traditional Hawaiian experience. First founded in 2001, Aqua Hotels & Resorts is now home to more than 15 one-of-a-kind properties on four Hawaiian Islands, including the smaller islands of Lanai and Molokai, and an all-suite hotel in Guam. Like all Aqua properties, Honolulu's Aqua Palms Waikiki is a vibrant hotel with a uniquely Hawaiian feel and a contemporary sensibility. Start your day in paradise with a freshly brewed cup of Kona coffee - a local blend from the Big Island - while taking in beautiful views of Diamond Head, the Pacific Ocean or the tropical city landscape. After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the downstairs IHOP restaurant, head outside to explore the city, or schedule a rejuvenating in-room lomi lomi massage.

The Best Kept Secret for Locals

I'm not sure how tourist would feel because they may be seeking a grand experience. I fly into Hawaii every other month and stay for a week on business. I ALWAYS stay at the Ala Moana but wanted to change things up. My wife encouraged me to try the Aqua Palms. The location is perfect - IHOP below, Red Lobster and Outback Steakhouse across the street. The room was very clean and simple. Parking was GREAT. And that means a lot in Waikiki; I never had to search for a space. The workout room is very tiny but that is the only downside for me. For business travel, perfect!

The room was really nice.

Hotel was nice for the price. Walking distance to the beach and the rest of waikiki. Close to bus stop. I was surprise about the charge for parking the car.

Nice, clean, modern, small

We stayed a few nights at the end our trip in Waikiki Dec 23-27th at the Aqua Palms - we wanted to be on that end of the strip and liked the location although it was a fair walk to the centre of the action. It is close to Ala Moana Centre and Beach Park which is nice, and overall quite convenient. We also chose it based on having parking which was super convenient and not as costly as you might expect relative to the prices for 24 hr parking in Waikiki. Our first impression of our room was really positive - the microwave and fridge really nice, the bedding was so nice and comfy! Design/colors/bathroom very nice. The room had its flaws....shower only no tub, and not enough lighting so the shower stall was quite dark, lighting in the room was not bright enough either, especially on a cloudy or rainy day, and once in awhile the smell of grease/cooking wafted up to the lanai from below. We were on the 8th floor and at the back which might have been less noisy than the front, but not great views - and felt a little blocked in surrounded by other tall buildings towers. Not obvious at first but...floor of the room and I'm guessing the entire floor and building were slanted towards the front so it was actually "uphill" to the lanai! Pool was nice but small, patio nice with lounge chairs and a BBQ - what a great idea! Excellent views of street and peek a boo of ocean from there. It was comfortable and clean and pleasant and convenient enough to stay, and was good value for Waikiki. Although we would probably not return for the reasons mentioned above. It was a very busy place and reception staff appeared overworked. Nice amenities in the lobby - also comfy, and small.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Wailana centre right around the corner past the cafe has a great souvenier shop next to an ABC store. The Wailana coffee shop is 24 hrs and busy all the time! Walk across the street to the marina for sunset or the Hilton lagoon. Take buses/shuttles from Kalia/Ena Street in front/alongside the Hilton.

Aqua Palms

The hotel was located conveniently close to restaurants, shopping and attractions. The concierge, [...], was very helpful and arranged some excellent tours for us. The location of two reasonable eating establishments close by was great as the food overall was very expensive. The room was adequate but more comfortable chairs were needed and the lighting in the bathroom was terrible. The shower area had no lighting and seemed to invite a fall.Overall we had a great time. Visited Pearl Harbor and took the Circle Island Tour which was fantastic. We would recommend some tours before driving around. This really helped orient us when it was time to drive around the island. The staff at the hotel was friendly and efficient.

quick trip

We needed a room for night. The location was great. The price of room for location was good. Hotel looked nice but room was old and couch bed was broken. Parking was small stalls in a crowded garage. Overall nice stay but probably wouldn't stay again.

Convenient location

Good location with convenient access to the beach through the Hilton Hawaiian Village complex. They offer a 10 percent breakfast discount at the IHOP downstairs as well as the corner coffee shop. Convenient to rental car companies and several restaurants. Close to the Army Museum that was very interesting. On the down-side: the rooms were moderately noisy; one can hear talking from other rooms and lanais. I definitely recommend requesting a mountain-view room or the street noise from Ala Moana will be another issue! Beds were made daily but attention to details cleanliness-wise could be improved. Staff was pleasant and generally helpful. Generally felt that we got what we paid for and would recommend the hotel for budget travelers.

Aqua Palms and Spa

The hotel was kind enough to upgrade me to a higher floor with a better view. However, the information on-line specified a breakfast that was to be included but the staff stated that this was discontinued last September and not taken off the webnsite yet. The location is great, parking a bit of a problem due to the tight spaces in the garage and limited number of spaces for hotel guests.

neat and tidy!!

I like the the room's furniture and the design and the view is really nice.. However, the room is quite smaller than other average hotel and the walkway to the door is really tight that it was hard for a smaller type kind of stroller to go through.
