Blending trendy design with authentic Polynesian touches and top-of-the-line amenities, the Aqua brand is a modern answer to the traditional Hawaiian experience. First founded in 2001, Aqua Hotels & Resorts is now home to more than 15 one-of-a-kind properties on four Hawaiian Islands, including the smaller islands of Lanai and Molokai, and an all-suite hotel in Guam. Like all Aqua properties, Honolulu's Aqua Palms Waikiki is a vibrant hotel with a uniquely Hawaiian feel and a contemporary sensibility. Start your day in paradise with a freshly brewed cup of Kona coffee - a local blend from the Big Island - while taking in beautiful views of Diamond Head, the Pacific Ocean or the tropical city landscape. After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the downstairs IHOP restaurant, head outside to explore the city, or schedule a rejuvenating in-room lomi lomi massage.

Unique market stalls, high-end retailers, award-winning restaurants and the legendary Waikiki Beach are located steps away from the Aqua Palms hotel. Hints and tips
Thursday evening is manager's reception night in the Aqua Palms lobby. Stop by to try the hotel's signature cocktails and listen to the soothing sounds of classic Hawaiian music.

If you don't plan to rent a car, take advantage of the nearby bus line and shuttle to explore Oahu's rural towns and less-crowded beaches.

50th birthday trip

I studied alot of Waikiki hotels as I wanted a really good quality and reasonably priced hotel for my 50th birthday. I could not have been happier with this choice. Hotel upgraded my family to the 11th floor and the view, right across the street from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, was everything. City, Diamond Head, and the ocean were picture perfect. Room was comfortable, although sleeper sofa not the best, with a balcony for early morning views. Granite counter in the bathroom, very nice, and micro and fridge in pantry very nice. Hotel staff were very accomodating. Coffee house on the corner and Ihop right next door along with many other resturants and shops easy walking distance. Beach had easy access just walking thru Hilton. If I were to go back right now I would stay at Aqua Palms and request my same room.

Nice convenient hotel

We recently spent two nights here and had a good experience. Nothing ultra fancy, but nice. It was one of the few less expensive hotels in area, and price was reasonable for clean room and great staff. Not a lot of amenities, but not needed when you can walk to beach in minutes. Trollies and buses are super handy and cheap to get places. Enjoyed managers party with live music, mai tais and snacks. Staff was very helpful! Ihop right next door too. We took pearl harbor tour, super, must see! Also hiked diamond head, must do also!

Weekend trip

Great location! Great room with the conveniences of a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We noticed that some rooms had balconies, ours didn't...wish ours did. We'll be back!

Ala Moana Shopping Center. Great shops to choose from, huge food court for fast, cook-to-order meals, and California Pizza Kitchen, Macaroni Grill, Tsukiji Fish Market, Bubba Gump's and many other restaurants makes this place a one stop shop!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Get a 4 day bus pass(cash only) at any ABC store and your bus stop is right next to the hotel. The 8, 19 or 20 bus lines take you pretty much everywhere a first time tourist would want to go in Honolulu.

Good one night stay

The Palms is a well-priced option for 1 night in Honolulu prior to cruising. It's right across from the HHV with all its amenities; you can take free chairs/towels over to the beach; wi-fi works well; room was clean; we even had an obstructed ocean view. While it wasn't luxury, it was practical and effortless.

Do NOT eat at the IHOP or Wailana diner next door. the IHOP is poor quality at outrageous prices; Wailana has good prices but poor quality.

You get what you pay for

My family had reserved 2 rooms. One had 3 adults and the second had 2 adults. Although we had requested rooms be located on the same floor one month prior to the start, the first set were not on the same floor and the one room for 3 people only had one Queen size bed. After telling the manager that the amount paid was for 3 people, she finally looked in their files to confirm what I had been saying from the start. In the end, the room for the 3, had a lumpy sofa bed and a king sized bed. The other room for 2 people had broken lamp shades and leaking bathroom fixtures. Given most time is spent outside the rooms, the location of the hotel and staff made up for its short-comings. p.s. pool supposed to open and be available starting at 7am, only happened 50% of the time there.

Doorway to Waikiki

Convenient to shopping. Buses stop in front of hotel. Great coffee shops located on the same block--national and well known local coffee shop located next door. One is open 24 hours and is very popular--know that lines start early in the morn.Elevator is extremely slow.Fee for use of Computer Kiosk in Lobby-don't bother inferior hardware and line speed. Internet is available in rooms with decent line speed. If you book room & get backside of hotel be aware that construction on vacant lot started mid-Mar13.Room had a small outside patio with view of construction crane.Ask before you book room. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows and the size of room is bigger than most. I was in town for a short stay to attend family event so I didn't mind not having a room view. Front desk was organized and friendly. Yes, I would stay again.

Expensive daily parking so just take the bus around town. Less than $3.00 to take bus to Waikiki and walk back maybe a mile so you can visit the shops and play tourist. Or, cross the street to take beach sidewalk to Waikiki. Get great photos of Diamond Head unobstructed and watch the gorgeous sunset. Or, go the other direction and stop at Ala Moana Shopping Center less than 3/4 miles away.

Aqua Palms is in a great location

Other than being in a great location close to Ala Moana, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Fort deRussy, Kuhui/Kauakaua Ave the place is just average. Pool is small yet beautiful, lobby is outdated but has all the amenities. Friendly attentive service all around :)
