Great hotel for the price

This hotel is in a great location - less than 5 minute walk to the beach and across the street from the Hilton Village. Good continental breakfast and very friendly staff. Only minor downside was slow elevators.

Terrible Hotel

Hotel was in the process of renovations. Elevators took forever and the wait times were long (as long as 5 minutes). Parking was extra and was not noted when the trip was booked. Over all experience was bad. Will not be returning to this hotel or booking with orbitz.

I enjoyed my stay. I had a nice view.

The staff was friendly and helpful, on helping me get to different locations and attractions. The bathtub was not cleaned during my 5 night stay. The counter in the kitchen needed cleaning.

nice hotel.. worth the price

This hotel was a comfortable place and was worth the price. Breakfast was very simple and enough to get you started for the day. (for a heavy one, you can go to IHOP next door). Parking is not free and the garage spots are very small. Be careful while pulling in and pulling out. Also, take extra caution when driving up and down the garage.

A friendly quiet hotel

We stayed in the Aqua Palms for 7 nights, and after the third night we decided to ugrade our room to a Diamond Head view room. I highly reccommend this upgrade. The view provided some nice ocean and diamond head views, but the biggest reason for the change for us, was the noise from the street. Our room on the third floor was not very relaxing due to the traffic noise, and if it weren't for paying the extra bucks, I think we would have had a much more negative experience over all of this hotel. The staff are very friendly, and the included continental breakfast provides enough pastries, juice, fruit and coffee to get you through to lunch, which is a nice bonus. I was a little dissapointed at the distance to the beach. The stated one block distance is up for debate, as it takes about 10-15 min to walk there. That said, it was nice to get a walk in before and after meals and the area of beach that the hotel is closest to is much less populated than the main strip of Waikiki, and we tended to prefer it for just hanging out and relaxing.

If you're struggling to find something healthy to eat, which can be difficult in Waikiki, Wailana Coffee house has a decent all you can eat salad bar. Also, if you don't want to pay the $7 rate for Mai Tai's throughout Waikiki, head over to the lounge attached to the coffee house for a tasty $3.50 mai tai.

Good Hotel and Good Price

Good location and clean rooms and nice staff and the price was one of the best in Waikiki. Parking garage was close but was $20 a night which I did not like but sounds par for the area. It is close to the beach and stores and several food outlets. We rented a car but you could get by easy without one and use the shuttles and regulare buses.

Diamond Head hike was a good way to stretch your legs and get away from all the traffic. It was close enough. Also the Oahu nature tours/hikes was good and they will pick you up at the hotel.

Friendly, helpful staff, nice small stuf

Especially good value with the economic downturn. I was there on business, so did not have much free time. I required a location close to central business district, with basic overnight facilities.A good clean room, with a large screen TV. Despite its location,it was quite quiet, and restful. The first time into Honolulu in many years. Some issues with elevators under overhaul- no big deal.
