Perfect 25th Birthday Present
The room was a nice size. The front desk staff was very helpful with bus route instructions and offered me a box of chocolate for my birthday. Housekeeping was unintrusive and thorough. Excellent location one block from the beach. Close access to a large shopping center and steps from great dining/shopping. This hotel has clearly been renovated recently, and it shows in the room condition. The hotel doesn't have a bar or restaurant (save an IHOP next door), but there are plenty of great places in the area.

Short walk from hotel
Sarento's Top of the Ilikai Hotel (1777 Ala Moana Blvd.) had amazing Italian and is only steps away. Also, the Wailana Coffee House (1860 Ala Moana Blvd.) is on the block and serves food 24/7.

Sweet
The hotel was in a great location very close to the international market place and right across the Hawaiian Hilton Village. We were so pleased with our room, it was clean, cute and had a fridge/micro/safe all for no additional fees. We spent time at the beach and didn't even check into fitness/pool stuff at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a hotel not a resort but it was lovely and DEFINITELY worth the money.

good if your on a budget.
first night(I was tired) I got there they gave me a room with no balcony, called to change that.I had to check out 12 pm and wait three hours to check back in.I want to get a view of the ocean from my room, it's only 8 stories tall, so the other hotels dwarf this one. yes the elevator is slow, just to add the ihop and coffee shop next door, were not any good. try cheeseburger whikiki about a block away.

GREAT service!!!
The service here was really great, along with everything that's provided in the rooms. We had a partial city view and weren't expecting the best view, so we got what we paid for. The location is definitely not bad, but it's also not the greatest. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to where all the action is but there's a local bus system that runs right in front of the hotel. This was our first trip to Hawaii and a great trip it was. Would definitely consider this hotel again.

Short walk from hotel
The outdoor market food court in Waikiki had great food for a very good prices. It's a food court so there's obviously nothing fancy about it, but nice, cheap dining!

At Home in Honolulu
Best Buy in Town
NICE room - CLEAN - new carpet - new mattress - not tiny - towels did smell like smoke and this is a non-smoking hotel (laundry service??) Water heater at the house went out and I got the room at $59 a night to get me through. I was prepared for a slum type room, but this was on par with the nicer, more well known hotels I stayed at when a tourist. I highly recommend this hotel. It's a ways from the strip but close enough that a walk will get you to the far end of Waikiki in 20 minutes. Located across from the Hilton Hawaiian Village - ABC stores, IHOP, and McDonald's all in the same block. The pool is small - and dark at night - but - aside from that - I'd say go for it!

take the good with the bad
It was very small but fine with me as a single traveler not spending much time in the room. The only really awful thing was the cockroaches in the bathroom. I know it was Hawaii but they need to take care of the problem. Everything else was good for the price. The people were nice & there was a laundry room in the hotel. It's a shame but I can't recommend it because of the cockroaches in the bathroom.

The bus runs pretty often and as a senior with a medicare card, I rode for $1. That included a trip up the windward side to North Beach taking a few hours. This even includes a transfer and will take you many places of interest. Go on line and check it out. It's called "The bus".

Worth a visit for the money
I've stayed here before but the price has been higher for a while so I didn't repeat the visit til now. Yes my room was pretty small and the bath needed a new coating it is still a good place to stay. Big flat screen TV, comfortable bed, and it was clean and tidy. For the little interaction I had, the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is just before the main drag of Waikiki but is close to plenty of restaurants and the quieter end of the beach - it's only a short walk to the main section of Waikiki and will probably be a bit quieter because it's not in the thick of things
