I like it!

What I love most about my room was actually the nice beautiful flat screen tv with cable. I'm not one to spend all day in the room watching TV, but I did so much during the day that at night time it was nice to watch some TV at night time. The view from my room (partial city view) was nice, but it was a lot of buildings and streets, I would've preferred an ocean view. The location great and not all that great at the same time. It is close to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and the beach, but it's wayyy at the edge of waikiki beach so walking to the center of Waikiki beach was still a good 15-20 minute walk. Service at the hotel was excellent, I have no complaints there. Checking in was smooth, asking for directions was easy, checking out was a breeze. The complimentary continental breakfast was mediocre, a lot of small muffins, fruit and juice that wasn't very filling. But it's free.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Ala Moana Shopping Center was one of the most beautiful shopping places I have ever been to and they have stores for everyone. Everything from Prada to Old navy.

Fine for the Price

We wanted to do Hawaii on a budget so this hotel was just fine for us. It was clean, nice flat screen T.V., small but nice pool which got lots of sun, friendly staff and short walk to the beach. It was away from the busiest part of Waikiki which we liked for the quiet and yet was only a short walk or bus ride to everything. Continental breakfast good, it was coffee and muffins but was the same every day which got a little old by the end. The room we had didn't have a balcony or any kind of a view from the room so it might be worth upgrading to get those. We would stay there agian.

Nice place for price

Arrived early for check in, but was allowed to park in the hotel garage. Staff was friendly and helpful - the room was small, but clean and came with small fridge, microwave, which was a huge help. Great location -- walking distance to all the things on Waikiki Beach. Great place for price.

Aqua Palms & Spa Overall Good Stay

Overall it was good. Other than small parking spaces, if you drive nothing bigger than intermediate and it will be tight. Best would be compact. Elevators are slow probably due to the size of the hotel and only 3 elevators. They are slow. Front desk staff and very helpful and friendly. Room was nice and housekeeping did good job keeping clean and providing towels, etc.

review

Hotel had onsite parking for an additional $20, but don't take a fullsize car - it's tight. Hotel was close to resturants. IHOP was located in the building, and they offered a 10% discount, but still expensive and I'd prefer to have a complementary breakfast included.

Excellent Value

Great value - rooms were small but we weren't there much. King-size bed, bigger refrigerator than we expected, microwave, iron and board, hair drier, quiet rooms facing away from Ala Moana Blvd. We were told by people staying across the street at the plush Hilton Hawaiian Village that they did not have all that. A/C and Internet worked great - I didn't try the wi-fi since an Ethernet cable was available. I saw a lot of people using wi-fi in the lobby, though. NO PROBLEMS WITH THE ELEVATORS. Gym was small - one universal, two treadmills and an elliptical, but it got the job done. Very small pool, but it was never crowded the water was nice - spent most of the water time at the beach - walk through Hilton HV to get there. The Wailana Coffe House will save you a fortune at breakfast - the $5.75 all-you-can-eat pancakes is the best deal going - two eggs, two strips of bacon and three nice pancakes - more if you want them when finished with the first batch. Coconut syrup was great. Right next to the IHOP at about 60% of the price. Great spot if you're watching your budget. Many ABC stores (souvenirs, snacks, drinks) - seems like they are on every other block. If you can get out to the Flea market at Aloha Stadium (Sat., Sun, and Wed until 3pm) you will save BIG money on souvenir aloha shirts, towels, t-shirts, costume jewelry etc. I saw a specific Hawaiian shirt for $10.00 that was going for $14.99 and up in town. If I return to the Waikiki area, I would definitely go back to Aqua Palms.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Best hint you'll get anywhere - parking is expensive, but...if you have a rental car, come out of the hotel and go right on Ala Moana BLVD. Make a left at the Red Lobster (Hobron Ave.) and drive straight back about 2 blocks. There is a marina there - just follow the road around a couple more blocks to 25 CENT PER HOUR PARKING - NO KIDDING. There's a maximum of 24 hours at a time. Find a spot, note the spot number, go up to the machine and enter the information and pay. Put the printed ticket on your dash. You can't touch that deal.
