Wonderful vacation
We loved staying at the ambassador. The reduced price was worth the few blocks we had to walk to the beach. The room was clean and kept clean the whole time we were there. The only improvement would have been a hot tub, we were chilled a couple times and it would have been nice to warm up in a hot tub.

Staff Great , Rooms smell bad
The Staff was very helpful, Staff member Argie was great ! The rooms smelled bad , urine smelll in the bathroom, The rug was stained and felt dirty walking on it barefoot.. The Bed was comfortable, The Paint was peeling in some spots and there was alot of repairs done to the ceilng and walls that looked like previous tenants did damage to the room and was puttied and painted over.

Good to go!
Nice and very well located hotel. I will stay there again nevertheless (as in Honolulu/Waikiki area) parking is a problem. Parking fee is $20/day and there is not a coffee/restaurant in the hotel.

Ambassador Hotel
- Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful - We didn't like the air-condition units in our rooms for it makes too much noise when turned on. It was very difficult for us to sleep at night. - Hotel location is very convinient for it is locatated within a short walk to restaurants, shops and the Waikiki beach. - The computer room (with free internet access) is located right behind the elevator and everytime the elevator moves up and down it makes so much noise that you couldn't even read anything. If the computer room is moved to other area on the same floor and quieter air-condition units are installed instead, I would recommend my friends to stay at this hotel.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
There is a steakhouse next to the hotel which offers excellent food for a reasonable price ($20-$30/per person). Cozy setting for both inside and outside eating tables. No loud music. Good for family dinner after a day full of activities

Stay home rather than vacatoning at this place
Most unfriendly front desk I had seen in my life. This is the first hotel that I stayed in out of hundreds that did not provide a coffee maker in the room. The front desk staff ( Bob who claimed he was a supervisor) was rude when I informed him that this was the first time I didn't get a coffee maker in the room. They agreed to send one to my room, but only the machine, no supplies. I had to go hunting for coffee grounds etc as I am used to coffee first thing in the morning. The hotel did not provide body lotion which was also a first for me. The soaps provided were the new standard for cheap soaps. There was not even a tub in the bath. The room we stayed in was a studio with kitchen but no microwave !!. When I asked Bob he was, as usual, rude and said they charge $30 a night for microwave. He even had the nerve to suggest that I take my food to a grocer near by to heat.. I will never stay in this hotel again, will not recommend to anyone. I will even say that the travel agency that recommended this hotel to me should not be proud having recommended this hotel to me.

Good for the $
The hotel is a standard 3 star hotel but is in a great location of Waikiki, within walking distance of beaches, restaurants, and shopping. The kitchenette makes saving money easy. The price is right on this hotel!

Very solid, economical, well located, helpful hotel
Good value for money and recommended for those not wanting too many bells & whistles (although nice pool available) but want roomy rooms with an ability to do some self-catering too. We had a 2x double bed unit which was comfortable if not flashy and good hot shower. Free wifi in lobby, Internet cable in rooms. These features, together with ability to make your own breakfast with a kettle etc. makes it good value for a traveling couple like ourselves. Small supermarket and coffeehouse next door, and bus stop very accessible. Food market 4 blocks up and Ala Moana centre short trolley trip or walk. Staff are exceptionally helpful and arranged good airport shuttle and advised easiest ways to get to things like Arizona memorial.

not bad!
Staffs were accomodating. Parking is expensive but well worth it, otherwise, you won't be able to park anywhere. I had a full kitchen. Bathroom--roomy, where the closet is also located; excellent privacy from the main room if you have to get dressed after a shower. I'd stay there again.
