These include a swimming pool with sundeck for tanning; a nightclub (Rumours) open on Friday and Saturday nights; and various restaurants with Japanese, Chinese, steak and seafood dishes. Families can enjoy casual breakfast buffets inside the Plantation Cafe for a daily morning energy boost.

Oahu visit with Mom

Slow check-in, only 3 Desk Clerks at peak check-in time. Small wall TV mount broken, and TV faced the floor. Propped up with pillows, but remote control took about 20 clicks to get any results. No room service was a bit of a disappointment. Rooms were clean & elevators were lightning fast. REquested double beds and then accessable room. found out that accessable rooms only had one bed. They were very kind in giving us a double bed room, right over the pool. Nice view.

OK for the price, but...

It is good for the price. You won't find a 4-star in central Waikiki for that price, but this is a good 20-30 minute walk from where the action is, with the exception of the next-door Ala Moana shopping center. The Kona Tower offers very small rooms.

Good Location Off Waikiki

I was able to walk to Waikiki and the surrounding area easily without being caught in the middle of the crowded Waikiki area. The biggest turnoff was being able to hear nearby guests closing their room doors as if the walls were made of paper. It made some nights difficult to get to sleep as I would try to get up early to catch the sunrise and some of the other guests didn't share the same plans.

Anniversary getaway

Hotel seemed nice but our room was small and average. The beding seemed old, the shower was too small and parking was too expensive ($20 a night). Service was good and coffee and tea in the room was a plus. The location was good. We will probably stay there again if we get a better price.

OK, close to Ala Moana Center

A few of the staff were surly, including the front desk manager, but most others were very friendly and helpful. The room was OK, but the air conditioner was obviously aging and it emitted a constant roar. I would hesitantly recommend this hotel, as long as you bring earplugs.

Da Review

I enjoyed this hotel. The staff was expecially warm and caring. Because of the recession in HI, several of the amenities in the hotel were not as listed on the web site: restaurants esepecially. The swimming pool lacks a hot tub. Parking lot was full one evening when I returned; having rented out all the spaces for a party. I object to this behavior since I paid for daily parking. They arranged for street-side metered parking for me free. This seems like double-dipping to me since they charge others to park there.

Location

The hotel over all was OK but it could be improved by having staff being more attentive to guest and for keeping the premise clean. For example one of the general bathrooms was not being maintained adequately and keep monitored.

Great location for going shopping for connected to a large open air shopping center. The shopping center is so large that it is very hard to visit all the shops in a full day.

Ala Moana

The Ala Moana is great for one reason...location. It is located in a great spot central to a mall and many restaurants. The room we had was small, but comfortable. It was a good experience, but not a great experience.

Anything you need is at the Ala Moana mall. It is a short walk from the second floor of the hotel to the mall. It has a decent selection of restaurants as well.
