Ala Moana is one block from the Hawaii Convention Center and attracts groups from the mainland. The hotel's 36 floors and more than 1,000 rooms hardly keep Ala Moana a secret, but a surprising find amidst the pack.

Central Location

This travel was to support a family member in the hospical, and it was close to that comlex. This is also part of the giant mall complex and is across from a very nice park on the beach. Don't get a car, take a shuttle for the airport. The bus and trolly stops are at the mall, but most things are within walking distance. The room was a bit small, but had most everything you need. I'm not sure the airconditioner/heater was anythying but a fan, and was actually a bit cold a few nights.

BAD INCONVENIENT EXPERIENCE

Room for 2 was super small, and the bathroom was a closet! The ceiling height is pretty low, and the walls are made of paper. We could hear all kinds of noise from next door and the hall. Paid for parking, $40 for 2 days, but they had no parking space in their tiny garage for my rental. I was told to park on the street at a meter. I will never go back to this hotel!

Japan experience

The Japanese attendant will try to cheat you with fees and the parking. Just in front of the hotel there is a big free parking. The attendant will tell us that our car will be towed away so we should use its parking ($20). We did, but next day we realized that many cars remain in their spaces without any violation. Moreover, all the signs are in japanese. Bad location, far away from waikiki.

My trip to Honolulu

Hotel room was small, but very clean. The mattress on the couch bed was a little uncomfortable. I awoke with a back ache each morning. A/C in the room was fantastic. The the location is fantastic. Well worth the money except next time I will book two double beds instead of one queen/ one sofa sleeper.

Great Location

The room was very small and I felt like I was in a dormitory. The bed looked more like a full instead of a queen and the pillows were flat like pancakes. $138.00 a day was not worth it. There was a partial ocean view of Ala Moana beach park which was nice. The parking was ridiculous. $25/day for valet and $20/day for self park (self parking upon availability). The housekeepers were nice but the front desk staff were snotty which was a surprise because I am Kama'aina (local). Luckily my stay was only 2 days.

Worked great fro me!

I had a great vacation and my room was nice. The bed was comfy, the Lanai was great, the employees were friendly and the club downstairs was packed! My one complaint is that it wasn't made clear to me until after I already booked my trip that room service did NOT include food room service even though there was a restaurant downstairs. I was looking forward to the convenience. Overall it suited my needs and was close enough to the water without being too surrounded by tourists.

I wish I would choose Hilton Village Hotel.

It was all right, exept fact that chair in room had many old stains. Actully, I wish I had pay just $50 more per night and stay in Hillton Village. The It was small diffrance in money but huge difference in service and overal view.
