A Nice Surprise at Tybee
This was a last-minute reservation made during the Tybee Pirate Fest so I wasn't expecting much. However, I had a nice surprise - the room was neat and the staff was super-nice. The free breakfast was great too. We will reserve here by choice from now on for the Pirate Fest.

Walking distance to downtown area.
Great location to establishments. Walking distace to the pier, resturants & nightspots. Rates were a little pricey for an older hotel.

GREAT TRIP
WE DIDN'T DO MUCH OF ANYTHING BECAUSE THE TRAFFIC WAS SO BAD. WE WILL COME AGAIN WHEN IT IS NOT A HOLIDAY. THE HOTEL WAS GREAT.

Better Than Expected
My initial reaction to the hotel, at check-in time was a bit disappointing: the clerk who checked me in was rather inexperienced and his uniform was very wrinkled and 2 sizes too big for him. He was not very friendly and wanted to charge me the full rate because I could not produce an AARP card, although it was not required under the reduced rate presented by Orbitz. He quickly relented, though, as he said this problem happens often. Also, my room was ready at 12:30 p.m., even though the official check in time is 3:00 p.m. My room was very clean, quiet and large. The hotel is a block from the beach and very close to popular restaurants and bars. It also backs up to a very quiet and quaint neighborhood, so I felt really safe. The pool is smaller than I anticipated, but super clean and well maintained. It is a great value and I would gladly return!

I ate at AJ's Dockside, which is a pleasant 10-minute walk from the hotel, and located on Tybee Inlet-beautiful view, on the water, and great food!

Mac Elwees dining great seafood & great service the hotel has a fair contintial breakfast but the sugar shack is best home cooking

too pricey
The hotel was okay but i caould have gotten a better price directly through the hotel itself. This has happened to me twice now using orbitz. As I'm checking in someone walks in asks if any rooms are available and is quoted a cheaper price than what I"m paying. When asked the hotel told me that the price was locked and they couldn't change it.

location across street from family
went to beach, joined family across the street for most meals, toured Savannah. However, people at desk didn't know anything about pickup at hotel for Savannah tours
