Disappointed. Sep 15, 2009
Reservered a room with a King Bed on Orbitz. Call to confirm with hotel, they had me down for two queens. Had that corrected. ... Arrived, checked in, went to room to find it in disarray. Bathroom had pipes on floor. Looked like room was being repaired. And by the way, it had two queen beds. Call front desk, told them the condition of the room and that I requested a King bed. Was told "No Kings Available" Told them OK we're out of here, they checked again and found a room with a King. We got to our room 45 mins later. Room faced Bay St. VERY NOISY!! Trucks all night long. Would not recommed this hotel. No way is it a 4 star hotel. Oh, add $12.00/day charge for hotel parking.

The Pink House was a great place to dine. The Cotton Exchange down on River Street was a good place as well. We also ate at the Boar's Head. The River Street Inn was just okay. If you like country home cooking we had Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House recommended several times - we did not eat there because it's just not our type of diet, but it looked fun.

Randy Aug 6, 2009
I like the location of the Hotel, close to just about everything. Didn't like that there wasn't a covered check-in area, ... especially since it was raining when I arrived but liked the secured parking garage. Very nice inside but had to climb stairs to get to my room. Overall a very nice quiet stay and I liked it and would consider returning again.
Traveler type: Couples
The food in Savannah is on par with good southern and/or New Orleans cooking and just about everywhere is good fare. There is something for almost everyone so get a city guide or just walk around, nothing is too far. Around City Market is great for going out also. If you like seafood and/or BBQ go to Tybee Island and eat at the Crab Shack. You won't be disappointed.

We went to Tybee Island and ate at the Crab Shack--great. We went to the River Walk. We loved the afternoon Tea Time with the piano player. It was great and relaxing before we got ready to go out for the evening. We loved the atmosphere of the hotel and would go back.

[...] is the BEST! He helped us with check in, getting our heavy things to our room, and with travel and restaurant tips. ... Very courteous staff throughout! Close to the DOT for free bus rides throughout the city, and close to many shops and restaurants. Right across the street from river street for shopping.
Traveler type: Family
Take the DOT buses around for FREE! It stops at the pirate house on the side of the hotel. Also Pedicabs are AWESOME and cheap! If you want the history of the squares, do a tour bus $25 per person for hop on hop off. If going to the beach, get there 9 am or you cannot park! It gets very busy there. I was told that most places only take cash so keep some on hand in the historic district.

Very Mulberry
Arron Jul 21, 2009
I loved the Mulberry. It's right across Bay St. from the River St. pier. I actually walked to all my entertainment and ... shopping spots. I only drove out to Tybee Island, which was only a 10 minute drive to the coast. The staff was gracious; especially my house cleaning lady. Wonderful little Latin woman. Absolute great location. I may not be able to stomach anywhere else once I return to Savannah.

Savannah and the Mulberry Inn
nona Jul 19, 2009
Hotel staff were generally very helpful and willing to do extra work to improve our stay. It was great to have a ... refrigerator and microwave in the room; the microwave, however, had to be constantly unplugged because it made repeated beeping noises during the night. Since we were travelling with a child, we asked that the microwave be replaced or repaired. We continued to have the problems throughout the stay. The tub had very stained and unattractive fixtures. I was almost afraid to touch the tub because of the fixtures! On a positive note, the Hotel Ambassador went out of her way to help us on at least two occasions. Generally, people were friendly and accommodating.
