East Bay Inn, situated in the heart of historic Savannah, is the perfect location for sightseeing in Savannah. River Street is just steps away, as well as Savannah's beautiful squares and lively City Market. Guest enjoy afternoon wine and cheese in the parlor and a deluxe continental breakfast in our cafe. Skylers Restaurant, located on our lower level, provides outstanding dining on site. Most guest park their cars and walk Savannah's historic district their entire stay.

Savannah Delight

Wonderful historical hotel with gorgeous decor from the moment you enter the door. Melvin the Bellman was very helpful and personable. Evening snacks and breakfast complete with real dishes and silverware at each table. Would love to visit again ;-)

Mrs. Wilkes for lunch was the HIGHLIGHT of the ENTIRE trip. Delicious Southern food served family style at a table for 10. Easily 24 different dishes to choose from with dessert and tea included. It's worth standing in line outside to dine at this location!!!

Central location

A very comforatable experience. Centrally located to restaurants, the market and the river front. Wine and ordeurves in the evening was very nice and lead to many discussions with other guests.

The Oyster House on the river had very fresh fish lightly battered. The Pink House was a little upscale but very good.

Disappointing experience

The hotel was accomodating by allowing us to check in early so that we did not have our luggage in the car while sight seeing. We were also lucky to get one of the approx. 10 parking spaces at the hotel. They do also give passes to park in a city lot approx. 2 blocks away. Parking in Savannah appeared to be expensive and at a premium. The Bellman helped with check in, but was no where to be found at check out. The rooms are very small(approximately 15 x 15 with lots of furniture in the room. Bathroom was dirty around the edges of the floor. Room 215 smelled like sour cooked cabbage - it may be over the exhaust for the restaurant. Rooms had 3 lamps and all had low wattage bulbs so reading was a bit difficult. Wine and cheese and continental breakfast was not special. Overall, I felt the staff was friendly, but was probably understaffed. We would not stay there again.

Nicer than your regular hotel--got the "flavor" of the city at this B&B.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

This was very accessible to the River St. shopping and to get tours of the city.
