Long Weekend Getaway

My girlfriend and I returned to Savannah for the second year in a row over MLK Weekend. This year we decided to stay in the downtown area to be closer to all the historic area has to offer. The hotel staff was always very polite and helpful. The valet service was quick with retrieving the car, and I found no damage to the vehicle, not even a scratch. The minor drawback is the lack of a mini-fridge in the room. Your 'run of the mill' $70 a night hotel has mini-fridges and microwaves in every room, but this $140 a night hotel did not have this convenience. So the typical ice bucket must keep beverages cold, not a good situtation. The hotel is a bit of a walk from River St. and Bay Street. Overall, the hotel will not 'Wow' you in anyway, but I do not believe you will be disappointed in your experience.

During the trip, we had a great experience with the Blue Orp Zombie Ghost Tour. The tour is for adults, and the open container law allows you to carry a beer/cocktail with you on the tour. Worth your money. Good eats include Belfords, Your Pie, Spankys, and Six Pence Pub. Great food, value, and experiences at them all.

New Years weekend getaway

Hotel was properly staffed for the large number of guests. Staff was friendly and helpful in providing information for the surrounding areas. Also, enjoyed using the gym facility during my visit. Unfortunately, the Hotel was not as close to the river as expected, but not a bad walk with the right pair of shoes. You must valet; on the way in we had to wait for someone to get the car, but had a much smoother experience getting the car on the way out since you can call ahead.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

As you exit the hotel to the left, make a left at the light and there is a gas station that has pretty much everything you might need in a moment's notice.

Good under pressure

Even though the front desk staff was busy, they called a cab for us! Very nice!

Nice historic hotel

The hotel staff was very friendly and graciously moved us to a room with a balcony overlooking the pool from just a window view that made it even nicer to sit out there in the evening and enjoy the night. The hotel was also close to the civic center and museum but a little drive or trolley to the riverfront. Over all it was a nice hotel.

Nice Place

The staff really understands service - everyone was helpful and cheerful! The room was nice and clean!! The hotel is located just on the fringe of the historic district - an easy walk. We parked our car and didn't need it until we left.

Great hotel!

Went to Savannah for S.t Patty's Day. I was relived to have found this place somewhat reasonably priced even on the short notice that we went. I'm not super picky on hotels but the best thing about this place was the showers were actually high enough I didn't have to limbo underneath them, and the towels weren't all scratchy!

nice but a little over priced

The staff and location were great. Each staff member was always ready with a smile and a hello and ready to help. The location was good for accessing the city. The hotel could use some updates though. Although it was very clean, it was not as nice as I would expect for over $200 per night. It looks very nice from the outside and the public areas, but our room had either been skipped in being updated or all rooms need it. There was nothing really wrong...just not what was expected.

The Segway tour was so much fun. It's just a few blocks east on Liberty. They are much easier to ride than we thought. Also, J Christopher's is AWESOME for breakfast or lunch.

City Market and River St have some fun shops - kids can watch them make salt-water taffy and sample it.
