Excellent Location!! Greatest Staff Ever!!!
AVIA was an excellent choice for my stay in Savannah. It is located so close to River St and Historic sites. The staff (from the valets and doormen to the manager) actually made the visit most enjoyable. We were always greeted with friendly smiles and tons of hospitality. I felt very welcome there. The bed and pillows were well worth the value. Just Dreamy!!

Short walk from hotel
Avia is so close to Paula Dean's restaurant that its convenient for not having to get up too too early to stand in line to try to get a reservation. Best tip--skip the wait in line and the so so food and head down to River Street and enjoy some seafood. Fiddlers Crab and the River House Restaurant are awesome!! Also it you're looking for a quiant bar to hang out in -- try Peg Leg Pete's on River Street. J-Bird and Barbara are the best!!

Over-the-top Office Party Accomodations
Great experience once again! We stayed at the Savannah Avia Hotel last year because of the proximity to the restaurant where we were having our office Christmas party. We had so much fun last year that we made sure to book another restaurant close by so we could stay at the Avia again. Great location, wonderfully appointed room, cool bar downstairs- we are looking for any excuse to stay again!

My Honeymoon
Most of the amenities advertised were not available to us. The hotel pool deck/ hot tub were locked off...none of the staff knoew how or offerred to access it for us. There was no coffee available at their "restaurant". I begged several waitstaff persons for coffee and they produced one cup of black coffee after 30 minutes..at $5.50! (because they are not self-service, I was told) . The instant stuff in the room is awful. The maid did not have any that wasn't decaf on her cart. The balcony is about 2 feet wide and when you step out onto it, you are blasted by hot air from the air conditioners from 2 rooms. No room to sit and look at the"view" of the river, which you have to practically fall off to see. Balcony in not useable! The staff was nice, but seemed not to be able to help with any of the concerns we expressed. I was very disappointed in this hotel. Hope Hyatt sends a manager from New Orleans..they always have good coffee there!

Second time better than first
I was expecting the service to be not that great since last year it was phenomenal service, but the exceeded that and more. There are no words to express how wonderful this hotel and the staff are. Kuddos to Mrs. Dot, Willie, Lester, Lauren, & all the other that I didn't remember their names.

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
Go to the visitor's center to pay for parking. It's $12 for two days at any garage and street parking over and hour. You can park at the same garage the hotels uses and charges $20 per day.

Wedding Anniversary
My husband and i stayed at the Avia during our vaca to Savannah celebrating our anniversary. The hotel staff was absolutely great. They gave us great tips on the best places to eat and where to find the best treats. Each day they greeted us with a smile and showed interest in our stay. The location was perfect since we didnt rent car. It was located within walking distance to everything and the popular river street. We plan to return to savannah and when we do we plan to visit the Avia again.

My husband and i stayed at the Avia while visiting savannah to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were very impressed with the staff room and hotel decor. The location was perfect. Was within walking distance to most poplular attractions and river street which was perfect since we didnt rent a car. The staff assisted us with picking good restaurants, finding the best treats and anything else as needed and always with a smile. It was a pleasure to stay at the Avia. Will definitely return!

Wonderful stay at Avia!
Being in the hotel industry, I tend to be a tad more sensitive to how a hotel should be. The Avia Hotel was absolutely wonderful. The staff was professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. The location was excellent. Close to all the tours, restaurants, City Market, and the river front. Not to mention being smack dab in the center of the Historic District. Only one problem was we could not swim on our first day due to the pool water being cold. However, the moment I mentioned it at the front desk, they immediately contacted maintenance to check it out. By the next day, the water was perfect! A special mention to Melinda the Concierge. She was absolutely fantastic. I called her the "magic one" as she made any special arrangements we needed a breeze, and she was so friendly. I will absoutely recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you Avia for making my much needed vacation a dream!

Good location, but......
Hotel is in a super location, easy walking distance to many great restaurants, bars, historical places, but the room was very small, the elevators were slow, the phone in our room did not work (only stayed one night, did not notice until the morning, thank goodness there wasn't an emergency!) On a more positive note, turndown service was nice, chocolates on pillows and complimentary bottles of water left on bedside table. All the staff were extremely cordial, welcoming and polite!!

Short walk from hotel
Asked the doorman to recommend a close place for breakfast, which he did. Goose Feathers is an express cafe, very reasonable and delicious food, a 2 minute walk through the newest square.
