Hometown Inn ATL-Marietta

The hotel is located in a not so nice part of town in Marietta. The room smelled of smoke, and was not the cleanest room I have been in.

I arrived late due to traffic. Using my GPS, I still could not find the entrance to the Hotel, which is tricky from the highway. I called and the lady working the desk was friendly and guided me to the entrance. The Motel looked nice from the outside. As it was now 1AM, the lobby was closed and I had to check in thru a window, which was fine. But once I got to my room I parked and then heard someone start coughing near me. There was a man standing between a truck and the stair well, just staring at me. As I walked up the steps, he started yelling at me. I walked into the room and it was disgusting. I often stay in Motel 6 or Super 8 motels, so I wasn't expecting anything luxurious, but I do want a clean and safe environment. The room was terrible. The kitchenette area had cigarette burns all over, the mirror had stickers all over, the 'work table' had names scratched into it, the carpet was black in spots (the color was supposed to be green), the bed was dirty, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, every thing was nasty. Hair in places there shouldn't have been hair. Plus people were walking by my room and stopping outside my door all nite. I didn't sleep well. After only being in the room for about an hour (I'd never felt so unsafe in a motel room in my life), I ended up going online on my phone and booking a 4 star room in Atlanta at $71 a nite. It was the Hilton. I usually stay in cheaper places, as I said, and as long as they are clean AND safe, I'm happy as I don't spend any time in the room. This place was neither of those. The bed wasn't clean. The sink wasn't clean. Nothing was clean, and I worried about someone breaking into my car all nite. Just because it looked clean outside in the lights didn't mean it was either. When day finally came, I went to check out early, losing my money for the 2nd nite. In the daylight, I could see how dirty the place really was. AVOID!

Very disappointing, I had asked for a non-smoking room and was put into a smoking room that smelled awful. Also, the room seemed very run down and dirty. I will not stay there again.

hotel was cheaper than most around, quiet, clean rooms ,ac worked well, parking lot had good security lights for the vehicles.beds a little firm for someone used to soft ones.

Easy, fast check in. Friendly staff. Off the beaten path but close enough to everything.

The property is nice and simple but a great value for an overnight stop. The problem is the map on the web site is useless because Canton Rd. crosses over Cobb Pky. with an overpass so it is rather hard to turn left on to Canton as the map indicates. The access road to get to Canton is difficult to find and is not on the web map.

There were some things that I didn't like. * My first room wasn't as clean as I would've liked. It was better once I switched rooms. * There is a train by the hotel that sometimes comes by at 9am and 12am. The good things: The staff is very friendly. There is a laundry room onsite and cooking utensils(pot/pan) in your room. This is a good value for the price.

The hotel was very clean and i like the fact that it had a stove...made me feel as if i was right at home. Best price and I intend to use them again

Good hotel for the price. Carpets and rooms are a little worn down but clean. Staff was very friendly. No breakfast and have to pay for wireless, but decent hotel. Good location outside of Atlanta to miss the main part of traffic in the morning (when going west).
