Great if you don't plan on sleeping in
We drove over to Atlanta to visit some friends. We picked this hotel because of the location to our friends and the activities we wanted to do. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfy. However, the hotel allowed several big UHauls to take up about 20 parking places and my husband and I had to park in a back dark parking lot. The staff should have made the UHauls park back there. That was scary for me having to walk in the dark from that back parking lot. We wanted to sleep in on Sunday morning but unfortunately our room was next to the conference center and church was held there that morning. That wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't had a PA system fit for a big areana. We couldn't even hear our TV due to the loud screaming preacher and the loud singing. We were not happy about that. Then we went to breakfast and they tried charging us for breakfast that was suppose to be included in our rate, it was an ordeal to get that taken care of. The staff did not seem to care about these issues. Nothing was done about them and no apologies were given.

Disappointed
I chose this hotel because Marriott has a good reputation as a nice but affordable hotel and it was just at the midpoint of my two days of driving. Here's the good stuff: the front desk attendant was very professional and courteous, the bed was FANTASTIC (huge, soft on top but firm underneath with plenty of pillows) and my room had a small balcony with sliding glass doors overlooking the pool- a nice touch. But overall the bad stuff left a lingering sense of disappointment and frustration for me. One of the reasons I opted for Marriott was because of the free internet access. I was slightly put off that there was wireless in the lobby but only wired ethernet in the rooms (I've stayed in plenty of cruddier hotels with free wireless in the rooms), but I was REALLY put off when I discovered the ethernet in the room did not work at all. I called down to the front desk and a service person was immediately sent up. However, after repeated attempts to reset the system, trips to and from "main switches" and calls to the service provider it was discovered that a hub was malfunctioning. Apparently this meant that some rooms have operating ethernet and some don't. The serviceperson (who at some point during one of his many trips to and from "hubs" and "switches" managed to nonchalantly pick up a snack and returned to my room casually munching on it- totally unprofessional in my opinion) did not offer any other solution than, "Well, you can go sit in the lobby for the wireless there." I asked if he could test other rooms to see which ethernet connections were working, but he informed me that I would have to take my laptop from room to room to test them myself because he did not have a laptop to do it. After driving 9 hours I did not want to wander from room to room doing this person's job, nor did I want to sit in the public lobby trying to work. I might mention that I am working on a professional research paper that is slated for presentation at an international conference in Rome in February, so I really DID have work to do. At any rate, I was irritated about the wasted hours I could have been working had the ethernet been operational in the room. The following morning I woke to discover there was no coffee in the room. Cups, sugar, stirrer, but no coffee. Then, after wrangling two suitcases, a laptop bag and a shoulder bag into the hall I discovered that the elevator was out of order. So I had to wrangle all my stuff down 2 flights of stairs (breaking a portion of plastic handle on the underside of my large wheeled suitcase in the process) and out to my car. Ultimately, while the desk staff and bed were good, the pile-up of minor irritations left a bad taste in my mouth.

Not bad for the price
I think everything was great except the cost of the breakfast that really wasn't worth it. The worst part of my whole stay was the bed. Not even remotely comfortable. One of the worst beds I have ever slept in. The hotel staff was great, room was clean, and had everything I look for.
