Several nearby restaurants, that were exremely crowded during the usual meal time. Go earlier than 6 PM or later then 8 PM to avoid the crowds.

Worst Hampton Stay Ever

The hotel did not give me the non-smoking room that I reserved. It was impossible to breath in the room because of the smoke smell, let alone get any sleep. [...]

Great Place to Stay!

We stayed at the Hampton in Duluth for three nights, and spent our days in downtown. It was about a 25 minute drive to downtown, but there wasn't much traffic. It was nice to be away from the rush and noise at night. The room was very clean and the staff were friendly! I would definitely stay here again!

Great stay

We stayed for five days as part of a basketball tournament. We had a first floor room near the elevator, but it was VERY quiet and quite handy to be near the exit and fitness room. The hotel was busy, so breakfast got a bit harried, but overall the hotel was great.

Very good value

Front staff was very friendly, helpful. Although breakfast is simple, there were hot waffles, healthy choices of cold cereals, fruits, juices which made a very convenient breakfast. Beds were very comfortable. AC/heating units are noisy, though.

February in Duluth

I was in Duluth to attend a wedding. Initially I went to the wrong Hampton Inn (in error). The staff there very graciously gave me printed directions to the other location, and I arrived there in about 15 minutes. The hotel was immaculately clean, well appointed, and comfortable. It is ideally situated away from heavy traffic, but with easy access to restaurants and shopping venues. The personnel were polite and accommodating.

Nice hotel but $50.00 overcharge to cred

We had 5 rooms with 13 people in town for the Cancer Walk. A very positive experience except for a $50.00 charge against our credit card to cover any service we might incur in addition to the prepaid amount. Upon discovering this was outstanding on Wed. we were told it would be cleared within 48 hours of our previous Sunday departure. This was after the several hours to fight my way throught the internet to learn where the charge against the card (a rebate card) had occurred. I can now give up on the $50.00 or spend a few more hours trying to find someone to correct it. A very unpleasant turn to what had been a good experience.
