A place to lay your head

The staff was friendly, the rooms clean, but it wasn't anything to write home about. With some upgrading, it would be a nice motel. Considering the price however, one can't complain to much.

Roaches in the room and a tick in the bed. Checked out at 3am and got a full refund. HORRIBLE experience.

Good at what it seeks to be

In town for a softball tournament (for me, ninth annual), and have stayed at this motel several times; very close to the softball complex. Coming in well under half the cost of nearly all local hotels, they serve my basic needs: (relatively) cheap and clean. The parking lot remained noisy into early morning – this seems a recurring issue during my stays here – but a little moderate music was enough to mostly cover. Internet has gone from unavailable to a paid option over the years, and I’d like to see it offered free, as most lower and mid-tier places do (I have little experience on the higher end!)

you get what you pay for

The front desk staff were very nice, especially Lulu - she was awesome. Other than that, you pretty much get what you pay for. It's just a cheap place to sleep and get a shower. The immediate area was a declining, dead zone along Victory Dr.

The downtown Columbus area is pretty cool as well as the River Walk. Definitely worth checking out. That is the only reason I gave "Location" a "3".

Great Rate and Pet friendly

The first night we arrived from an 8 hour trip. Room A/C didn't function even after Maintenance guy said he switched it of winter setting. Next day we got another room. A/C WORKED GREAT! Rooms are small, but for the money we had and the pets in the pet carriers, it was perfect. Saved a bundle of money not having to board pets and keeping our animal side of the family with us was a treat. The staff was very friendly and would ask us daily if we needed service, linen, or towels. NO FREE INTERNET, but it is available for a small fee. I stayed for a few weeks while waiting to close on a house. I had no problems at all with any of local people, staff, or other guests. The atmosphere was calm, quiet, friendly, and peaceful. I would definatly stay at Motel 6 again.

Terrible!

We traveled to Columbus, GA, to run the Soldier Marathon at Ft. Benning. While the marathon was FANTASTIC, the Motel 6 was horrid. The place was a dump, the room was tiny (I have a closet in my house bigger than this!), and there wasn't even an alarm clock (or ANY clock for that matter!) nor coffee maker in the room. And the room was supposed to be "non-smoking." It reeked of cigarette smoke, and there was an ashtray in the room, turned upside down on the table with a "no smoking" sign on top of it.... However, we were there to simply sleep the night, so those problems didn't phase us that much.... the biggest issue was the NOISE!!! The hotel balcony was filled with people hanging out all hours of the night (and early morning) yelling, cussing, and carrying on. Two doors down from us was a dog which barked ALL FREAKING NIGHT LONG!!!!! Between the loud, rude, obnoxious people making all sorts of racket the entire night and the out of control dog, I was ready to either storm out of my room and raise some serious heck with these low-lifes, or call the front desk and insist that they address the noise issues. However, I didn't particularly feel "safe" in this dump of a hotel, so I fearfully laid awake in my bed for most of the night. This hotel was definitely NOT worth the price that was charged!!!!! What a horrible stay. Never again.

Dumpy

The room was clean enough, but old, dumpy and cramped. There was nothing to recommend the place except it was inexpensive and close to Fort Benning, which is where I needed to be.
