You get what you pay for
We were looking for cheap and that is what we got. I am generally used to a little higher-end stays, but the Howard Johnson was well located and clean. There's apparent aging and it's obvious that many people have come through, but, overall, for the price, you couldn't ask for more. The front desk was courteous and helpful.

Find the Canon Brewery on Broadway. They have great burgers and brew their own beer in house! Great find and only a few blocks away!

This was a very nice room for the price and we will be returning..only little complaint is that the water didn't drain from the tub while showering very fast but was not worth complaining to the staff about.The staff was super friendly ans the rooms were very clean. One could not ask for much more for a 1 night stay. If you plan on using their wifi be sure to ask about their passwords and sign in procedures..it is a bit confusing.

Thanksgiving at Fort Benning and Graduation

Smelly
I was ready to find another hotel on first site.In desperate need of renovation! The sink was pink, carpet old. Bed was sleepable for one night. I would not even sit on the couch. In the morning people were hollering to each other. Straight up HOOD!

Great stay for the price
Stayed one night at this hotel. Room was clean, staff was friendly and the location was only a few blocks from the Riverwalk.

Deep clean needed!!
The room was disgusting. The shower still had small black hairs & a dried up dirt splatter in it & the floors were so filthy, not only could u see the dust build up in the corners by the floor board, my 6 month old son's knees turned black from crawling on the floor during our 1st hour in the room. Needless to say, I spent as much time as possible outside of that room or keeping him confined to the bed tops. ...Aside from the dirt the shower head is VERY low, I am 5'9" & could not fit underneath it, there was poorly caulked cracks in the ceramic tile and all of the ceilings had brown spots that look like water damage. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, regardless of their budget. No mini-fridge, microwave & amount of free WiFi could even begin to make up for this mess.

Miss 1st Lady
You pay for what you get.
the room was quiet and in good location. the bed was comfortable. The furniture needs updating. And the room wasn't the most cleanness. The staff was very friendly.

The staff was rude as soon as we for there and we two night early and so we were hoping to get refunded for the nights well [...]the manager told me I had to go through [...]so she gave me a number I called. I was on the phone for a while well they said they would do it for that night but would refund one night which was fine then the [...]representative said she was going to refund it. Anyway to shorten this I WILL NEVER stay at the Howard Johnson again for many reason this just happens to be the one still bothering me [...] I would rather pay full price and extra and be treated with good customer service.
