Love the W
Great hotel. Rooms are modern and bigger than thought. Everyone was so helpful. "whatever/ whenever" is true. Hotel picked up crutches at CVS after an injury. Definitely recommend it.

HIP and ULTRA COMTEMPORARY
The hotel was cute and comtemporary. They made good use of the space to make it feel cozy. Spa Bliss was the best spa ever! Small and intimate and 5 star service. The breakfast wasn't that good and extremely overpriced. Lunch was great and resonable. The location was perfect and a short drive for shopping and great resturants. Easy access to freeways (despite the construction) and main streets. I visit ATL once a year and this hotel stay was the best. I look forward to returning.

Money-saving tip:

WIFI in room is pricey as well as the the computer lab. The huge price is per 15 minutes. To save money, just go into the lobby living room and get WIFI for free!

Tired Sailor
Disappointed
The support staff such as the valet parkers, the room service staff and one lady who brought up the room bed was extremely nice and helpful. However the check in staff were not helpful and did not show proper customer service in which we felt they were concerned with our needs. I paid extra to book a room with 2 queen size beds and my room was given up after calling prior to advise of the arrival of our flight and what time we'd be checking. All we were told was that come back the next morning to see if they could accomodate what we had already booked. My best friend and I are active military members serving in the Navy and had just come back from deployment to stay at the imfamous W and have been completely disappointed. Will not stay there again nor will we recommend it to anyone else.

Bad service, poorly maintained facilities
I stayed at the W for the Midtown Music Festival -- 2 days of standing in Piedmont Park in 85 degree weather, sitting on the ground and drinking beer. You want a soft place to land when you know that's what your day is going to be. Well, to my surprise, the water was shut down at 5 am on day two. What a nice surprise to wake up hung over and not be able to shower or use the toilet. It was also nice to learn that the W has no air conditioning either, if the water is turned off. This was all due, according to the staff, to a water main break, though the strange smell in the neighborhood suggests there might be inadequate sewrage. There was water in the connected mall, luckily, which is where my friends and I had to go to use the facilities that morning. The kicker was how rude the management was when I asked for a discount on the exhorbitant room price. By checkout morning, it was clear that guest were getting 100 off a 2 day stay, but the evening I asked about it, the manager tried to give me only 50. It's still pretty sad to think I paid an average of 250/night for a room that had no shower or toilet on one night. To top it off, they applied the credit to my friends card, even though I had prepaid the room, gave us a ridiculously confusing bill "authorizing" 900 in charges, just to confuse the matter more. Total fail, Starwood. For the rest of my life, I will stay anywhere else.

Dining tip:
In Hotel
If you enjoy Spice Market in NY, DO NOT bother with Spice Market at the Midtown. Furthermore, skip their breakfast of watery scrambled eggs and cold, dry potatoes.
