W Atlanta Midtown

We were in town to enjoy a show so had chosen this hotel for it's proximity to the event. Had never used a W hotel before, but felt it was had a good reputation. Surprized by a few things. The signage at the adjacent self parking garage was very lacking in directing us on how to enter the hotel. Once entered the hotel, suprized at how long it took to check in at 3 in the afternoon. The staff were great, there were just not enough of them. The room was very nice and spacious but puzzled to find that regular king rooms have showers only, no tubs. This and no in room coffee maker were new experiences for us. (In their defense, there was a note that they would bring us a coffee maker on request). Just some things to be made aware of.

I stayed at the W for the Midtown Music Festival -- 2 days of standing in Piedmont Park in 85 degree weather, sitting on the ground and drinking beer. You want a soft place to land when you know that's what your day is going to be. Well, to my surprise, the water was shut down at 5 am on day two. What a nice surprise to wake up hung over and not be able to shower or use the toilet. It was also nice to learn that the W has no air conditioning either, if the water is turned off. This was all due, according to the staff, to a water main break, though the strange smell in the neighborhood suggests there might be inadequate sewrage. There was water in the connected mall, luckily, which is where my friends and I had to go to use the facilities that morning. The kicker was how rude the management was when I asked for a discount on the exhorbitant room price. By checkout morning, it was clear that guest were getting 100 off a 2 day stay, but the evening I asked about it, the manager tried to give me only 50. It's still pretty sad to think I paid an average of 250/night for a room that had no shower or toilet on one night. To top it off, they applied the credit to my friends card, even though I had prepaid the room, gave us a ridiculously confusing bill "authorizing" 900 in charges, just to confuse the matter more. Total fail, Starwood. For the rest of my life, I will stay anywhere else.

I was in Atlanta for the Midtown Music Festival. The W is in walking distance of the event, which was great. Unfortunately during my stay a city water main broke and we were without water for a period of time, less than 24 hours. But didn't have warm water for longer than that. Otherwise, fun, funky atmosphere. Great area to sit and have drinks out front with water way running along it. I would stay here again.

The room was nice, and it was everything I have come to expect from the W. It's hard to say that it exceeded my expectations because I have stayed at the W many times, but I found it to be a pleasant experience as usual.

The W has really gone down in quality. When we tried calling for valet parking (30 dollars a day), no one would answer the phone. I would not stay there again

Close to Piedmont Park, High Museum, Woodruff Arts Center, MARTA, Atlanta's finest dining and nightlife, Four Seasons and Loews nearby. Room had very modern artwork. May take awhile to check-in and check-out.

If you are ready to party stay here. ha! If you are looking to relax and get a good nights sleep you may want to consider somewhere else. The walls seemed very thin as we could hear everything going on above, below, to the right, and left of us. When someone walked by it sounded like they were in our room. Other than that it was a great place! Staff was very nice and the room was great and very clean. Killer view.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Bliss spa awesome! Rooms chic and location accessible to restaurants, etc. Decent workout room but gym in attached mall (2nd floor access from hotel) is awesome and Gary (owner/manager) great!!

Great location, nice restaurants onsite and very close to MARTA.

Very nice hotel, great location, 5 minutes away from train station, which takes you directly to the airport. Room is clean and neat and W hotel bedding is very comfortable, highly recommended.
